Brad thank you SO much for this incredibly thoughtful and generous comment. Sorry it took me a while to respond properly.I’m so glad you enjoyed the episode with Chrissie! She’s a gem, and I knew the moment we recorded it that people would connect with her energy. It honestly means the world to me that you’ve been with me since the early MCU days, and that you took a chance not just on my channel but on joining Patreon and supporting my journey here. I remember your very first messages and your Reactr request for Miracle Mile. It was one of my first Reactr requests, if not the first! What a wild, beautifully strange little movie! You’re right that I wouldn’t have encountered it otherwise, and I’m grateful you trusted me with it. You nailed it when you described the appeal of reaction channels. As someone who didn't consume these types of videos before making them my own, I'm only now starting to learn how it works! 😄 As for sharing more of myself, thank you for receiving that part of me so warmly. It’s taken time to feel fully comfortable doing that, but this space feels safe, in large part because of amazing people like you. I do see you as a friend, and I love the community we’re building together here. P.S. Mystery Men has been on the list for a while now, but you’ve just bumped it up a few spots. Dumb powers? i wanna watch!

Chrissie recently reacted to Boogie Nights, a movie so good she fell out of her chair...literally... https://youtu.be/E1M18gNKoIE?si=2ry2sw2HoTElqMm_&t=1747

Yay!!! A new episode of Cristy's Comments Corner! I of course watch each episode when it comes out, but haven't really had time to comment on the most recent ones due to being really busy with work. However, since I got a special shoutout in this episode, I figured I should definitely make the time to comment on this one. 🙂 Let's start by talking about Chrissie. Although I am familiar with a lot of different movie reactors on YouTube, I have to say that I was not at all familiar with her. Looking at her channel, I discovered the reason for this is that most of the movies that she has reacted to, I had never seen before. Heck, there's a lot of movies on her channel that I had never even heard of before! Regardless, based on her appearance on this episode on CCC, she seems like a great person. Funny, good-natured and intelligent. And anybody who is a friend of Cristy and Jorge is automatically a friend of mine, so i have subscribed to her channel and will start keeping up with her as I do several other reactors. I was extremely impressed to hear that Chrissie does 100% of the work for her own channel, including the editing, which you guys have explained takes up a TON of time. Kudos to her for having that commitment! I was also interested when the three of you were discussing the appeal of reaction channels in general. I think Chrissie made a very valid point when she says the reason that she watches other people's reactions is because "I get so much joy from other people's joy." I would even go one step further and say that, for me, I get joy out of other people's joy of things that gave me joy to begin with. Let's face it, everyone has certain movies that they love, and often wish that there was a way that they could watch them again for the first time. Well, watching *other* people watch them for the first time is about as close as we can get to that experience. And that's why reaction channels are as popular as they are (IMO, anyway). I'm glad that, as you talked about in this episode, you mentioned that as your channel evolves and grows, that you feel more comfortable with "being yourself", and opening yourself up to sharing things about your life and your beliefs. Sure, people don't tune into these reaction channels to be lectured or to hear a sermon, but that's a lot different than simply sharing about yourself. Like most of us here on your Patreon, I care for Cristy very much, and appreciate that we get to know more about her as person and friend, not just "a reactor on YouTube". That's also why I feel comfortable sharing with you basic things about me and my life that we've talked about in private messages. You and Jorge are actual friends to me, and I hope that you guys feel that way, too. 🙂 Ok, you guys asked me directly about "Miracle Mile". Well, let start be telling you first about my history with reaction channels and with Reactr. I first became aware of reaction channels several years ago (probably early in the pandemic), while browsing YouTube looking for stuff to watch to kill time. My first impression of reactor channels was "That's... weird. Watching other people watch movies?" But I quickly understood the appeal. As I mentioned a couple paragraphs above, there's something about watching other people seeing movies that you enjoy and love, especially if they also enjoy them, that really appeals to the empathy in people. Well, as I got familiar with multiple reactors' channels, I noticed of course that everybody had their own style and quirks. Some seemed better at it or more comfortable than others, and some people appealed to me more than others. The first time I stumbled onto one of Cristy's videos, it was a MCU movie (probably Iron Man), so I noticed that she was very new to the reaction channel scene. Something about Cristy really appealed to me. She just seemed like a very -genuine- person. Still a bit timid and hesitant. An animal lover as she obviously loved her dogs Joey and Phoebe. And of course she's just downright adorable. She quickly became my favorite reactor on YouTube. After several months, Cristy mentioned that she was starting her own Patreon page. I know what Patreon was, of course, but had never been on it before. I just never felt the desire to pay to see the "full reaction" of someone watching a movie (since it would involve things like needing your own copy of the movie, and sitting through periods of silence while the reactor is just watching and paying attention). But for Cristy, since I really enjoyed her commentary, and also wanted to help support her channel, I signed up (I was the second of her sponsors, right after John Colson). And I've never regretted signing up! So after a few months passed, Cristy mentioned that she was joining Reactr, and she explained what Reactr was and how it worked. This sounded great to me, as there are tons of movies that I have enjoyed, but aren't very well known. Movies that I would love Cristy to see and react to, but would probably most likely never end up on her watch list. Even if I nominated the movie repeatedly in the monthly sponsors poll, it would probably never win since very few people would likely vote for it. But Reactr seemed like the perfect way to get Cristy (or other reactors) to watch your favorite, but little-known movies. I was very happy and honored to be Cristy's first Reactr customer, submitting "Miracle Mile". A great, fantastic movie that, even though it's not in my all-time Top 10 list, is still very good and thrilling. But again, it is so little known that I had never seen a single reactor, not one, react to it on YouTube. The thing about the Reactr website is that, of all the other reactors that I was subscribed to on YouTube, I could find only one who also on Reactr (KL of course), so I waited until she had an opening in her Reactr schedule and submitted Miracle Mile for her as well. It actually took awhile for her to get to it, because it wasn't streaming on any service in Canada where she lives, and so she had to purchase an actual physical copy so that she could watch it. But it did happen eventually! Honestly, there are still a bunch of other reactors that I would gladly pay thru Reactr to watch Miracle Mile, but still, a year later, I don't think any of them have signed up for Reactr. And honestly, the Reactr website is not very user-friendly when it comes to searching thru reactors. But I still check every once in a while to see if anyone I am familiar with has singed up. So, aside from the 8 or so movies that I have submitted thru Reactr to Cristy, the only other Reatcr purchase I have made was to KL, and it was just for the one movie. So to get back to the original question that you guys asked of me, "which reaction to Miracle Mile have I liked best?" well, both Cristy and KL did a great job, and both seemed to very much enjoy the movie, but I of course have to give the nod to Cristy. Just her natural personality and enthusiasm coming thru were perfect. Ok, final topic - you were discussing movies that you've watched where certain characters have "dumb" powers. At least, until you really consider what those powers can allow them to do. But that made me think- if you really want to see a movie whose characters have dumb powers, then I really hope that you consider adding "Mystery Men" to your watch list. A very funny (but still exciting) movie that will have you cracking up constantly. Something to consider anyway. Well, Cristy and Jorge, thanks for another great episode of CCC! Us patrons greatly appreciate that time you guys take to make these episodes, and I really love hearing about stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I hope that you both have a wonderful week ahead. Cristy - stay sweet! <3
