Great reaction, Cristy! Loved getting to hang with you tonight and watch this, now, classic movie with you. 🥰 So glad that you loved it and I can tell you are going to really love all the others based on your reaction to this one. I think you'll find that a lot of questions you have now will all be answered as you make your way through Spider-Month. :) The director, Sam Raimi, who's name you did pronounce correctly, is best known for directing both the Spider-Man trilogy you are starting on now as well the first 3 films of a horror series know as The Evil Dead which really put him on the map when he was just starting out and have a HUGE cult following now. So much of his film making style that he is so well known for and he used in The Evil Dead movies can be seen, at times, in parts of his Spider-Man movies. 20 years after Spider-Man he was handed the task of directing an MCU movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which you will eventually get to, and his unique filmmaking style harkening back to his days of directing The Evil Dead movies can be seen all over again. :D Another interesting piece to note regarding this movie and the fact that it came out in 2002. A lot of the promotional material like original movie poster and first teaser trailer for the movie had the twin towers in them as they had been made prior to 9/11 attacks. Due to those events those posters were recalled and the teaser trailer was edited so that the twin towers were no longer included. You can find the original teaser trailer on YouTube if you search for the spider-man twin towers trailer. It's interesting to see how the trailer would have been had those attacks never taken place and still such a fresh and terrible pain for the US at the time. Looking forward to Spider-Man 2!!! Oh and feel free to drop that pic of you as Cinderella for all of us to enjoy if you track it down. 😉 Have a wonderful weekend! Cheers!

I loved Kirsten Dunst! So is she supposed to be the same character Zendaya plays in the Tom Holland movies? They're both "MJ" but they seem very different characters

Cristy

Great reaction THANK YOU!!! And yes since there are multiple comic books for the same character...comic book titles like "The Spectacular Spider - Man..." The Amazing Spider - Man"..." The Uncanny Spider - Man" etc... each writer...artist...illustrator having their own version of Spider Man resulting in various origin stories with some commonality between them but these variations on the same character lends to all of the different actors and scenarios that we find the "web head" in...the last 22 cinematic years since this first cinematic version came out. So I hope that you don't get too confused at the different "variants" of Spider - Man! Looking forward to the rest of "Spider - Month" THANK YOU!!!👏🏾🥰

What now Spider-Man ,you are killing it Ms Cristy. Old heads will say Tobey McGuire is the most relatable and realistic Spidee in the franchise. I think he is most like the comic book if your into that, but tomato tomata Enjoying more great content.

You're correct Cristy. The phrase, "With great power, comes great responsibility," had been previously said historically. In the comics, it was Uncle Ben, (Stan Lee) in Spider-Man's first appearance, Amazing Fantasy # 15. 😉

This was the first big Marvel movie on the big screen and it was a colossal hit! What did you think of Kirsten's Dunst's Mary Jane Watson character? The love interest was always a big part of the Spider-Man comics.....
