Yoo! Here's the last couple weeks of work, for creating and saving new items in the 'Stuff' folder. In the end, these files will be editable/duplicable, and I will provide some basic tools/tutorials for modders to add their own funky items.
It gets pretty complicated, and you can see me losing my mind a little bit, while exploring a bunch of different ideas and issues in this programming sprint.

Hello! This is an early prototype of a destructible mesh tech I'm developing. It's actually the same ould threaded Marching Cubes code we've been using for the Toilet Realm, but this time I've programmed it to listen for collisions and take damage from them, sort of like Deeprock Galactic or DK Bananza, but way lower spec to run on everyone's machines.
I think my goal is to put these in the sky above the overworld, like those planetoids outside of Mrs. Slitherss class, and put stuff on...
Woo! Update 0.2.13 is out, thank you guys for helping test. I apologize that I ended up going with the name Fleach after all-- you guys came up with some awesome names, but Fleach was already burned into my brain. Next time π

Yo! I've been working on a bunch of different ideas, trying to scope out which of them would be manageable to fit into the next update. On the side, I decided to make a new monster, just for fun. I am open to naming suggestions haha
In this work timelapse I work on a new monster called the 'Fleach' which is meant to prey on the player and other monsters in the wilderness. It also is our second flying enemy! I will need to improve it a bit more.
Whew! Done with the Demo, now there's a free way to play Juice Galaxy again. Looking forward to working on something small fun and simple updates next ^^

Heya! I'm working on a demo version of JG, and so I'm adding this new character Paewol who shows up and explains to the player when they hit a pay wall. In the demo, he's invincible but players can smack him around a bit to take out their frustrations, and if I have time, I'd like to give him an attack. I think in the full version you can spawn him, kill him, and take his hat.
Hopefully I'll finish the demo version within the next couple weeks, and I may ask for help testing it if anyo...
Yo! I haven't been uploading timelapses since I'm doing boring bugfix stuff, but here's one where I do some planning for next update before whipping up the latest hotfix patch.
Here's a quick summary of the hotfix I implement in this video:
- Make Ingot talk a bit less
- Make Ingot ignore certain neutral monsters (Mr. Fox)

Yo! I am changing the price of Juice Galaxy from $0 to $5 on December 7th. Make sure you guys own the game on Itch and Steam before the price change.

This time, I've been working on the level design for the dream area. In order to evoke a dreamlike feeling of smallness and vulnerability, I have increased the size of everything 3x, leaving the player and lil' Mr. Fox small. I like how spacious and atmospheric the place is now.

2024-10-18 20:28:00 +0000 UTC View PostHello! This time, work was focused on improving the Dream Dust and sleep mechanic, as well as figuring out answers to some hard questions. I am pretty happy with the sleeping animation/sound, and ~70% done with the Dream Dust item's look and feel.
Soon, we'll be at the fun part where I can start working on expanding the nightmare! At the very least I want to add a new attack to the big guy. I also have some ideas for making the Fox quest more fun, including opening up the trapdoor area....

All right, this time I've added some sound, polished the physics, worked on the dude's AI and made it killable. There's still some more work to do-- I think we need a sound effect for his neck stretching and snapping. I also may edit his model now that we've gotten to this point, and I need to figure out where to put him.

The saga continues! In this one I focus on the monster's attack, where he rips his head off and throws it at you.
You can see me working on the code inside of the Anim_HeadPluck coroutine, which animates the whole thing.
One of you suggested I show some game footage at normal speed too, and I think that's a great idea.
It's pretty code intensive this time, because I'm not just working on an attack for the Hemicranian, I'm also working on a new system for building ragdolls from the 'Stuff' folder included with Juice Galaxy.
The goal is to make it so that you guys can edit the game and add your own monsters/items, so I'm using this new system to create the Hemicranian as a test. Those capabilities won't be quite ready by next update, but a big chunk of the work will be done.

I just got done with a big update, and am finally cleaning my room. I think rather than throwing away months of notes, it'd be fun to scan and post them online (with basically zero context).
