Greed - $15.5 million! The archdiocese was greedy too, but they wanted to take it all for themselves and bypass the archdiocese by being paid by Dana Hollister directly. The archdiocese wasn't going to pay them anything. Really both the nuns and the archdiocese were greedy. They should have paid the nuns something or bought them homes. I'm sure they just put them in a building. There is one just a couple miles away by CVS on Sunset near Chinatown. It's a very nice condo complex for a convent of nuns. It's not a historic 30,000 sqare foot mansion complex though.

2023-09-23 21:27:38 +0000 UTCNo the nuns wanted to sell it to the other woman - a developer. Here's the whole timeline, and they were greedy. https://www.insider.com/katy-perry-nuns-los-angeles-convent-sale-feud-timeline-2019-6 Insider.com - "Acting under the belief that they alone own the convent, the Sisters quickly sold the estate to restaurateur and developer Dana Hollister. Hollister made her offer directly to the nuns: $15.5 million and $100,000 in cash up front. They accepted without ever meeting her and immediately turned over the deed. She moved in shortly after, intending to turn the property into a boutique hotel."

2023-09-23 20:41:30 +0000 UTCLos Feliz was not always as expensive as it later became. That's why nuns were allowed to live in that location. Monasteries and convents are usually not in the most pricey locations. Once its value went way up the church wanted to sell it for profit. The nuns wanted to be allowed to stay on since it was their home.
