I feel like the result of the prelims were quite in line with the logic of the show so far. I really enjoyed the theme especially, and how everyone got creative with it (served as an inspiration to me XD)

Fermented foods are often smelly, due to the fermentation itself (bad smell on organic things, like food, is usually caused by bacteria, and bacteria are a necessary component of fermentation). P.S. I love how, coming from an indian family, you nod vigorously everytime they talk about spices. :) Did they get most of their stuff right? As an italian, I cringe a lot about their "italian" food. They got a few things completely wrong. I guess that's what they pass for italian in Japan. I doubt any italian would use ketchup in a dish. Neapolitan spaghetti are actually a japanese thing. We just use tomato sauce.
