Refuge of Embers is a hand drawn and animated fantasy visual novel. You can play our recently overhauled free demo that has 6 animated h-scenes and covers the prologue chapter of the story.
You’ll play as Harth, the renamable protagonist who lives in a remote frontier village with his friends. As the story unfolds, the simple life that Harth and his friends have always known begins to crumble away as they discover a deeper purpose.
The game features a large cast of characters to meet and romance. The choices that you make will change how they see you and unlock different endings or flavors for each path.
Refuge of Embers is packed with artwork that pulls you deeper into the world and narrative, and of course includes some really spicy animated scenes with multiple camera angles and toggleable x-ray views.
By default the game leans strongly into impregnation as a theme, but that and other content can be toggled on or off in the settings menu at any time. You can customize the game to match your preferences.
The completed game will be out next year, but you can support the project here on Patreon in the meantime. Supporter builds are released every 30-60 days, and the current version has about 185 mins of total gameplay.
