Background Information

<0> Preface:

Since many fans come from various countries other than China, there will be cultural differences. So before watching the video, I would like to introduece some background information, so that the viewing experience will be more full. If you're not interested, it's ok to skip these and watch the video directly.

I began to watch the live steam 2 years ago, especially fascinated the beauty anchors of car sales. It really caught my attention, and I've been watching for a long time.  At that time, I would spend the entire day waiting in the live stream room, and the moment I saw the anchor take off their shoes, I felt a strong sense of satisfaction.

Maybe for some of you, seeing them take off their shoes and show their feet directly might not seem like a big deal, but actually, it's very rare content.

<1>  Cultural

China is a land of etiquette, where Confucian values of propriety and integrity are revered. The majority of women are not inclined to intentionally expose feminine features in front of others. Of course, with gradually evolving attitudes, there may be some changes, but overall, the culture tends to be conservative. Women are extremely sensitive about revealing their feet, and unless in a very relaxed and safe environment, it's very difficult to see their feet.

According to old traditional customs, a woman is not supposed to be seen by other man before getting married. In addition, traditional Hanfu clothing usually covers the legs and feet, making the feet particularly private. If a woman willingly shows her feet in front of you, it's likely that she considers you a suitable husband and hopes you will take responsibility for her.

China's foot fetish culture has a long history, with even many emperors and dignitaries indulging in it. However, under the constraints of traditional norms, it has taken on some distorted forms of development, such as the abnormal aesthetic of bound feet that emerged during the Qing Dynasty. As a result, foot fetishism has acquired somewhat negative connotations over time. Being labeled as having a foot fetish can carry some mental burdens due to these associations.

Some people may disagree with my statement.

Question1: According to your opinions, there shouldn't be many women wearing sandals or flip-flops when going out, but in reality, we see a lot of them, even girls going barefoot. 

I actually think it's similar to how you can see people wearing bikinis at the beach or by the pool, but you don't see them wearing them on the streets. It's about appropriateness for the occasion. In certain situations, women may choose to do certain things voluntarily, but you can't force them to do so. 

Question2: Since we often see the scenes of women's feet , why are we so keen on watching women take off their shoes?

Still using the example above, even though you can see bikinis at the pool and beach, you probably won't find it very exciting because that's the normal state for that setting within your expectations. Human desires are peculiar. In situations where something is clearly impossible or not allowed, there's a tendency to challenge tradition for the thrill (beyond expectations). For example, a sudden gust of wind lifting a woman's skirt, or a woman taking off her shoes to reveal feet that have been enclosed all day.

<2> Livesteam Platforms

As is well known, live streaming platforms have very strict controls over content for their long-term development. Needless to say, content related to pornography, gambling, and drugs is completely prohibited, and even content that doesn't align with their perceived mainstream values can be shut down at any time.

Within the framework of platform rules, anchors sometimes have to resort to certain tactics to attract more viewers. This leads to some common practices that anchors take advantage of the loopholes. For example, wearing tight-fitting but not overly revealing clothes, showing only part of their feet, or intentionally adopting poses in short skirts that suggest they might reveal more.

<3>Anchors

Most of the anchors who sell cars are usually hired by car brand company to serve as new media channels. Whether they are employees of the brand depends on the specific negotiation with the brand for cooperation. Some are directly recruited as part-time employees from 4S dealerships, while others are externally hired professional streamers.

In order to increase the number of online viewers, anchors typically showcase their skills. Among these, the number of likes is a crucial metric that determines the weight of the live stream room. Real-time likes directly impact the room's promotion rate. Therefore, in order to gain more popularity, anchors may promise to provide benefits to viewers in the live stream room when a certain number of likes is reached. For example, they might promise to dance when reaching 10,000 likes.

Most anchors, especially those from top brand of car manufacturers, are unlikely to show their feet easily. Firstly, that could be negative to the brand's value. Secondly, they need to appear more professional and cannot rely on such tricks to attract viewers.

The same anchor may experience differences before and after gaining followers. When they first start, they have few followers, so they must provide incentives for people to pay attention. After some time, when they have more followers, they may choose to be more conservative. In another situation, if their performance becomes too audacious, the platform may shut down their live stream room (we say 'lifted away'), which can have a significant impact on the company's account. Therefore, they may refrain from such actions in the future.

Last

So, taking off shoes and showing feet or soles are not common occurrences.That's the bonus time. I skip the normal and boring scenes cause I know nobody would want to watch that. I hoped you guys enjoy them.
