I'm gonna make a called shot here, and maybe it works out, maybe it doesn't. But if this is Krystal, it's not the one we know. I think someone else is in the driver's seat of her body. Krystal has vaguely established empathic powers. She doesn't need a VR headset to know if we're dating material and only someone that doesn't know how they work or doesn't have them to begin with would. I think that there's a Boogie competitor out there. I think they're working with mind control, and want in on trying to figure out how Boogies do it. I think that the Leafeon that went to go see that Vaporeon siren because it's one more thing to study and learn from to make the VR headset. We know it's in the same universe, because that Absol was in the cafe and it wasn't really noteworthy.

Considering that she says "something I want you to experience" in the page you linked, and there's a VR set in the background it makes sense that it was hinted before. I just didn't realize it was going to reference previous sequences. Thanks for letting me know!
