Everyone in this room, pacified by the mass hypnotic abilities the boogies now wield, are awaiting their turn to be joined. Captives are released from their trance just before the assimilation for no other reason than to see their confused reaction. The hat itself is a boogie host, originally owned by the magician and can multiply any substance.
Caecilia Ariana here is also a magician. She had the talent to fight back, but reacted too late to do anything to stop the dark mage boogies. Her mind was corrupted into obedience, fading away into being another of their tools. In this state her personality is unable to influence the collective to the extent that normally occurs, Caecilia and all the others are essentially slaves.
