2026 update~

Hello everyone! This is your yearly Kan update with my plans going forward~

First, I want to thank everyone who has been supporting me and enjoying my work. I wouldn't be here without all of you (≧◡≦) ♡

So, what are my plans for the big 2026? Last year has been horrible for both me and my art, everything has seen a massive drop in quality from what I am aiming for and things took a shift into a direction I didn't want them to. For my art specifically it has been a consequence of not letting it breathe, the pressure of "I have to" instead of "I want to" has taken a hard toll on everything I've been doing, independent of what it is.

So what am I going to do about it? What else than keep drawing even more, of course. One does not get better by not drawing. But this comes with some asterisks, so let's go over them.

NSFW art

Do not worry my dear orange cat enjoyer, I will not stop drawing the silly, or any silly in fact. But I will change how I approach this as a whole. The way I've been going with this kind of art so far has been counterproductive for the most part. For a long time I've forced myself to draw a minimum amount of silly each month, but this has made it not enjoyable and significantly decreased the quality of every art I did. To the point that at the end of last month I wanted to do that yearly summary trend that people were doing, but there was no drawings to be proud of to show again. So I didn't end up doing any summary.

So from now on I will only draw something if I truly want to and think I have something to show for it, not as a quota I have to meet no matter what.

What does this mean for you? It sometimes may mean less silly art. Sometimes more. If I'm not enjoying what I'm drawing you will only get worse and more repetitive drawings, and no one wants that, right?

Doujins

Last year I didn't release any new doujin. There has been a reason for that, and it's that I'm not being allowed to. Every time I make a new one it gets shut down by all platforms I try to put it or even advertise it on. I started 3 new doujins last year, but all of them ended up scrapped. All the motivation to do something vanishes when it fails for reasons outside of your control, so I didn't end up finishing any of them.

I really enjoy drawing them, the silly stories and characters, and want to keep doing more. This goes for both original doujins and those based on some other property, so I will be changing my approach on this as well. You will see what I'm planning next time I start a new one~

Projects

As you may know, I am currently working on a silly project, the silly game I've been making the devlogs for. That will release at some point soon hopefully. But we're not here to talk about that one, since it already gets its own posts with more details.

I want to talk about the other projects I'm working on. Yes, there's more! This goes in the same line as a previous point I brought up above: focusing on drawing what I want and enjoy. None of them include any NSFW btw, you can start booing me now.

And now that everyone only interested in porn is gone, let's talk about what other things I've been working on. Those who have known me for a bit may know that I'm a big fantasy and RPG enjoyer, and is what my art used to be focused on before shifting to what you all currently know me for. But that fantasy spark never left me or my work, for years I've been working hard to bring my ideas, characters and story to reality. Since I started as an artist, this has been one of my main goals for the longest time. I finally think I'm at the point I can deliver a good project, both in quality and depth.

I am currently working on multiple projects regarding this, but the closest one to being realized is not that far from being revealed, which will happen later this year. I will talk more about it when that time comes~

Working on my projects is what I enjoy most, so I will be focusing on that as much as I can, giving them all the attention they need. I still have a lot to learn and improve until any of them reaches what I want them to be, but I will get there. I will work hard to make sure of that~

I know I didn't give much details on anything on this post and that things are pretty vague, but I like it like that. I think everything I'm working on needs its own spotlight when they're ready to be shown, and not in a general yearly update.
