Upcoming Changes to our Patreon

Hi everyone! Luke and I have bad news, which will change the way we’re doing things here on Patreon. We also have some good news and need your feedback, but bad news first!

We’re going down to 2-3 map packs with adventure prompts per month.

Luke’s developed some stress-related health issues which have caused him a lot of pain, so we’re both slowing down from creating our usual 4 map packs a month to 2 or 3 map packs. This might be just for the next few months, we’ll re-evaluate after that time. But for now, things have been too busy and we really need to rest, heal, and recharge (yes, we are battery-people ;) ).

With the reduction of map packs, since you guys only pay for the map packs that are released, you’ll also be getting charged less per month. :)

Luke and I are getting married! :D

Being the meme-lords Luke and I are, the wedding’s on the 22/02/22 (which is also a Tuesday :’) ). After that, we’ll honeymoon for a week and customer support might not be quite as fast during that time. We probably won’t always have access to internet while away.

Getting married is another factor in slowing down our content creation, as we’re going to start trying for kids after that and who knows what pregnancy or dealing with small cubs will bring (but oh boy, we can guess! :P).

New sorting system for our maps on Google Drive

We’re changing the way we host our maps on Google Drive based on some great feedback from you guys! We’ll be sorting our maps and adventure prompts by file type. For example, 72ppi maps, 300ppi maps, home print PDFs, poster print JPEGs, and adventure prompt PDFs so you guys can download all of the maps at once from any of the particular categories you need. :)

Tell us what you think about our latest Foundry maps!

A new batch of Foundry maps have just been finished and we’d love for you guys to try them and tell us what you think! Thanks to your previous advice, we’ve lowered the map resolution to 150ppi and decided to go with sounds in some areas and effects where needed.

Music won’t be added at the moment, given that you guys were half and half and it takes us a LOT longer to complete each map with music.

Once you have given us your feedback for these latest Foundry maps, we’ll be ready to go full-steam ahead with all the maps! We’ll be hiring (ohmygod the dark arts of bureaucracy have been sapping my life force with all the legislation) on Luke’s youngest brother, Zephryn, to help us with this :) Oh, and a couple of months from now we also intend to start doing all our new map packs with Foundry as they release as well!

So, at least there’s some good with the bad, but we really hope you guys understand why we’re reducing our workload. Thanks again for all your support, it really does mean a lot to us! <3

Yo, congratulations you two! And don't sweat it the small details - pace yourselves as needed!

Matthew

Congratulations !

Congratulations! I’m a new subscriber and new Foundry user and really appreciate your work! I echo the other comments about well deserved mental health and personal time! I have a question for the community. As a new Foundry user, I’m struggling with importing the First Ten Foundry maps in this post. Can someone give me some tips or direct me to a link with instructions? I created the scene, tried importing the JSON file data and attached the jpg of the map as a background but didn’t see the walls, lighting, or other data attached to the map. Most of the other Foundry enabled map scenes I have so far had a url to a compendium but I can’t figure out how to upload from these unzipped files on my computer. Thanks for any advice and help anyone can provide!

Agreed.

Here's hoping Luke starts to feel better soon and you guys have a super fun married future!

Congratulations!! Also y'all shouldn't feel the need to do ANY customer support during your honeymoon! Any reasonable person would understand and respect that.

Thanks Neil! We will be trying to live in the moment more, especially now that things are slowing down. We're both especially looking forward to exploring Tasmania over the honey moon, since we only moved here about a year and a bit ago now and haven't seen all that much of it. Except for the lavender farm in Bridstowe. That was beautiful and they had delicious ice cream :3 ~ Beb

Thanks so much Mark! :D I'm really looking forward to spending the rest of my life with Luke, he's the bestest, most accepting of personal responsibility and morally upstanding man I know. Plus, great to discuss philosophy with! :P We were best friends for a couple of years before getting into a relationship, and I think having that level of good communication sets a very functional foundation to overcome any future problems. Especially when we're both sleep-deprived with little cuddlers skuttling about underfoot! :) ~ Beb

Thanks Russ! The wedding's definitely going to be a fun day by the beach with family, then the honeymoon will be a road trip with lots of camping. After that, we're going to hopefully be a lot more busy with kids, haha! :) ~ Beb

Thank you Aikar! :D It's just going to be a small wedding with family and home-cooked food, but we're both really looking forward to it. Something genuinely relaxing and fun :P ~ Beb

Thanks so much Bragrman, haha! It really means a lot to us that you enjoy what we do, and we might share a nice photo of the wedding once it's happened \(^.^)/ ~ Beb

Thank you very much Mike! :D I can see myself writing child-friendly, educational adventures for the cubs when they get older, but I also imagine they'll be romping around outside on the farm playing make believe :P Haha thank you for being so understanding as well, it's been so much more relaxing in even this last day of things slowing down. It really means a lot to us. :) ~ Beb

Aww, thanks so much Brian we really appreciate the support and understanding! <3 I think a celebratory map is a great idea, but I'll have to see what Luke thinks once we get back from the honeymoon! :) ~ Beb

Yes it does, and sorry to hear that Matthew! I hope you get better soon as well. Thank you for being so understanding, and we really hope to have a happy ever after! It would be very nice to grow old together through thick and thin, and watch our little kidlings grow up :) ~ Beb

Thanks Josh, we're really looking forward to taking some time off haha! Me too regarding Luke, as his unofficial secretary I'm doing everything I can to help him have a speedy recovery and reduce his stress. :) ~ Beb

Thank you Paercebal! :D I'm really excited, it's going to be a relaxing wedding camping on the beach \(^.^)/ ~ Beb

Thanks so much Ken, and we really appreciate you being so understanding as well! Excitement for the wedding aside, I will definitely be cooking Luke tasty food and handling all the medical bureaucrats to make sure he gets better. And giving him plenty of snuggles, of course! :P ~ Beb

Many, many CONGRATULATIONS!

Mark E. Henaghen

Congratulations to you both!

Congratulations!

aikar

Boo! and Congrats! respectively. Wishing you all the best on all fronts, and thank you for the awesome maps!

Bragrman

Congratulations! Fingers crossed on cubs. They'll give you a new inspiration. Two maps per month is fine for me. I can't use four a month anyway. Maybe I'll make headway on my long list of "this map is cool! I have an idea for it..." And take care of yourselves! Stay healthy and creative, remember the joy and love of what you do.

Mike Serfass

Congratulations! Have fun together. I’m not at all worried about the quantity of maps, I’d rather see you two happy, healthy and enjoying the art rather than toiling away. Maybe a fun, celebratory wedding map?

Brian Guerrero

Health always comes first (as i sit on a hospital bed. Lol), so take all yhe time Luke needs. Also grats on the upcoming wedding. May you spend a joyous lifetime together.

Matthew Millman

Congratulations. Hope Luke feels better soon.

JoshDavisNC

Congrats! :-)

paercebal

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials! You provide so much value for my Patreon membership. I'd be grateful, therefore, if you'd keep healthy and continue to amaze with those awesome maps and prompts.

Ken Siwek

Congrats on your upcoming weddings. Remember to regularly stop during the day and look around to build the memories of the best of your life.
