Progress update for 20-08-2023

Hey all! With the 0.8.3 release behind us I think the entire team has plenty of reason to be proud! Most of the update rolled out very smoothly; very few game breaking bugs, and only the new password on the debug menu (which has now been removed)  was a bit of a bump in the road.But besides that all the features were added, and work as intended!

So, what is next for the upcoming update? Simple! More writing! The game has almost all the features we want to include, and from now on it's adding more content and refining what is there. I'm always a firm believer that a game is best when it does what it does best, while a policy of MORE MORE MORE MORE can only lead to problems. So, the next update will put a heavy focus on the rival, Emma, Kris, and Elena.

However, this new development way does bring a few questions. As the writing mostly follows a linear process, where we put everything in google doc files and only add it in the last days before a release, a lot has been written already. And I wonder what you guys prefer; for us to release all the writing in the update, or to release smaller updates here for you to play. Save games don't transfer, so it would mean having to play the game a lot to find the new content. I'll post a poll, to see what you guys prefer!

And there is another thing I'd love your opinion on. See, with this new focus on writting the programmers and I have the option to look into other... projects. There are all still FMG focussed. But as always with programming projects, a lot can be done with nothing visible. Not only that, plans or entire projects might be scrapped and never see the light of day. We do want to explore new options, but we also want to be open to you all here; after all, you are the supporters that make this possible.
