I don’t think he maliciously wanted to fuck his brothers daughter out of spite, that’s out of character because he loves his brother. Even though he likes to fuck with him, he does it for attention and validation from his older brother. He genuinely thinks he and Rhaenyra will rule well.

2024-12-07 16:59:35 +0000 UTCAll the reasons for Criston's crash out is there. People seem to complain a lot about clarity, do we really need more of it? His story also isn't over and we will see more of how he deals with his insecurities. My take is that he can't deal with breaking his oath, trying to restore it and getting rejected. Along with confessing, then dealing with the fact that he doesn't know what's gonna happen to him. When Joffery then "threatens" him, he simply can't handle it and lashes out. Projecting his lack of restraint, failure and fear into violence, which he in the next scene, can't live with. Or atleast unable to live with the consequences of his own actions. As to how the hell he got out of that situation/is still alive, I get is more of a loophole. But its not hard to imagine that Alicent as they clearly indicate, is the reason. Just a shame we didn't see it. All characters have different mannerism, actions, traits and morals. Sometimes we don't need explicit answers for everything as long as we have an idea of why a character does what they do. It makes the story more engaging and is one reason why the early seasons of GoT is so damn good

To be an insecure fuccboi, look, whatever mayne, but to pull that much rage and fury out over a casual "don't tell my secret and I won't tell yours" is - ... I might hate him more than Cersei and that's a taaaaall order breh. A lover trying desperately to pull you away from fury-m*rdering their partner, that makes you so mad you break like five different jaws, just to return to fully making a skull into ground meat.
