Sonic+Kirby: One Single Frame Colored
Added 2025-08-19 05:00:48 +0000 UTCEarlier today I started making a cute little Kirby and Sonic animation. The hope is to fully color it, so here's one frame out of like 20 or 30!
I was not very confident in my ability to do the colors justice, going into this. I had a somewhat specific vision of the coloring style. Something lineless, where the glow of the yellows could really stand out and feel radiant. I'm actually extremely proud of how this turned out.
I'm not sure how well I could maintain this precise level of detail for the finished product, considering it took me at least an hour to nail this down, but a lot of that time was spent experimenting with how I even want it to look in any capacity. Now that I have a vision for what the style should be, I can look for places to simplify some elements and develop a routine method for achieving it efficiently. God, I sound so clinical when I say it like that. "Ehemhem, I shall develop a routine method for efficient production 🤓🤓🤓"
I'll post this one some time after the 8.19 Air Riders direct.
