Also, I NEED to send you a package of Velaflame bulbs! They have moving flames, and you can adjust the color to practically anything you can imagine. When you mentioned that the flame bulbs you used were too orange for your liking, I knew that you might appreciate a more customizable option.😂

Yesterday we were able to use WiFi at a hot spot location and the first thing I did was download this video to watch offline when I got home. It brought so much joy to my day! Thank you so much! You're always such a bright spot in our lives and being able to see your smiling face in these trying days brings a lot of hope.

Literally one of my favorite room makeovers ever 😍 A note about Spanish Moss: Sometimes it can have mites which cause your skin to itch or have a reaction. I think the moss in craft stores is safe but the Spanish Moss you find outside down South can occasionally have mites (my husband is from FL and filled me in while watching the episode ;) Also, all of your pets are so cute and I love seeing them migrate around the house and orbit you while you’re creating 😂

Why I ask is one year I bought a spider web system that had a special fluid that would “bio degrade” and sprayed it all over my bedroom, it was the best Halloween! But now 15 years later some of the walls in that room and my grandma’s antique singer sewing machine have spider web texture still on them. I haven’t tried the hot glue method in fear of similar results.

I had a similar idea with Spanish moss--I can't afford to replace my damaged 70s-era ceiling tiles, so I put Spanish moss into the damaged areas, and it looks kinda cool. Again, fantastic job with the time constrictions you had, and can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for my favorite month!!

2024-09-29 14:21:39 +0000 UTCWhen I was a kid, I came home on the bus from school to find a coffin on the front porch. Of course I had to open it, and there was a genuine human skeleton inside! Too long ago, I don’t remember how the coffin got there, but my father was a physician, and that probably had something to do with it. We had years of fun at Halloween posing with our friend. I was so amazed how fast you put that room together! Even as you did it hurriedly, and temporarily, it still would take me weeks to do it. Awesome work!

2024-09-29 09:22:39 +0000 UTCbeautiful episode! to add to the warnings of others that flour dust is extremely flammable, I would add that when it comes time to clean that room it would be much safer to sweep than to vacuum - when the flour becomes airborne again if your vacuum sparks or has any static charge at all it can cause some very serious fires! stay safe :)

If anyone is thinking of using dry ice - just remember that the fog is carbon dioxide and nitrogen, which displaces oxygen in the lower parts of the room where pets are - so keep the pets far away from the fog. Also, flour is explosively flammable, so don't use it with real candles. (sorry - I'm an Art teacher, so hyper focused on safety)

I could see doing some daguerreotype spirit pictures in there, too, with the skeleton in the casket and the ghost staring down into it. I hate to be that person, but be careful when blowing the flour into webs and stuff that there are no flames in the area (candles, fire, etc) until it all settles because flour dust in the air can be explosive in the presence of even just a lit match (or even a spark—do a search for “flour explosion” or “dust explosion” and you’ll see what I mean).
