Loved this episode. It just reminded me that I need to plan a trip with my mom.

YouDontGetAnyLemonade

Yes please more videos of you and mom trips! 💕

Curious Crittie

My husband and I are planning to take the same trip next year in October

Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Smith-Clark

Your Mom is so cute! I grew up going to Ptown and got married there 3 years ago. It is a magical place! The Crowne Point is such a gem. I’ve spent many a magical evening bobbing around their pool! I’m so glad you love it too!

Monique Alhamad

I loved touring castles in Europe, grand homes in Britain's countryside, palaces in Asia, temples and ruins in Greece all throughout my life. This video made me go 👀...a visit I plan on duplicating. It looks amazing and I don't have to go overseas to enjoy it all, esp since I don't travel overseas anymore. Well, that's not true...lol, Im taking my nieces to Japan in Spring. However, its RI as soon as I can!

AnnLeilani#InSoCal

I don't know if you have ever been but Mackinac Island in Michigan but it seems like a place you would love! There are no cars allowed on the island, so its filled with bicycles & horse drawn carriages.

Parker Parker

The Chanler is amazing. Used to spend every Christmas there, and got married there. Highly recommend.

Maggie Jordan

Beautiful hotels, homes, and memories with mom!

Rez NYC

I love when you do these episodes : )

Annalise

Completed unrelated, but has anyone here seen Dragonwyck?

Shawan McKiever

I was taken down a rabbit-hole by the tiger sculpture, and found a bit of information for those similarly curious: "Tigre Terrassant un Crocodile" Auguste Nicolas Caïn, 1869 The original is placed in Tuileries Gardens, France, though the one at The Elms does have a registry listing at the Smithsonian: https://siris-artinventories.si.edu/ipac20/ipac.jsp?uri=full=3100001~!320882!0 Alas I have found no pocket-sized reproductions - perhaps an adventure in photogrammetry and 3D modelling is in order? :)

deidra hendrix

I enjoy these episodes 💯. Thank you for being my unofficial holiday planner. These places are now on the list! ❤️

Paige Phoa

I chuckled when I saw the horse and carriage on the map. I love all the little things you do to make your video delightful and topping it off with Grants Music makes them magical.

Angell Cloxen

Really enjoyed watching this episode! More of this please:D <3

Madeleine Ytterberg

How did everyone walk right passed you when you were twirling that beautiful white umbrella! I am surprised that the street was not lined with ambulance cars to pick up all the men (and women!) with broken necks from turning to watch you walk on by! How lovely is that outfit?! The vintage store had so much to offer, and the staff must have been so eager to help find pieces for you and your mother! Speaking of your mom, I can see where you get your class and inherited beauty from Christine. She is a gem and I enjoyed seeing her personality come through in the objects she chose to film for you, such as the mother goose with her little babies all walking on the grass in front of the water. And the way she filmed you. I can tell she loves her children dearly, as a mother should! These trips make me want to venture out so much & see more of America. When my rowdy three year old settles down a bit more I think we will try and visit some of the mansions on the west coast. I found so much inspiration in this video. Thank you for sharing my dear friend. Spooky Season is upon us! *witch cackle* I can’t wait to see all of your creatures this Fall. Xo

Love these episodes x

Just stumbled upon your Netflix show and now this. Love it! I love your style and taste! One of my fav things to do is to explore old mansions and new towns.

This was an amazing episode. This is a place I wish to see and you provided some great ideas. And to see these places through your talented eyes was very beneficial.

I lost my mom in 2017. You are so right that every little trip together is so important! My mom and I both loved to travel...weather it was Paris or Peoria! So fun to watch you guys enjoying such lovely spots...and all those desserts!!!! xoxo

Kiki Reef

Loved it and yes please more videos of antique shopping! Thank you for your time:)

Martha Soria

Went to Newport last October! Love White Horse Tavern, and of course, picking up Halloween sweaters at Kiel James Patrick. We also went to Mystic, Connecticut, which was quite charming and delightful.

Victoria and Chris

Hi Christine! I love the RI mansions. The Breakers is my favorite. I love the Rosewood ballroom where the "Tango" in True Lies was filmed. Yes, to more Mom and Christine videos!

Linda

I love the vacation videos!

Alice Morgan

I love this so much

Morticia Kensington

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cheryl Kurucz

What a darling video, and what spectacular places! I love that you and your mom have such a dear relationship. My mom and I are very close as well, but she's stubborn and will not travel unfortunately. Just imagine unflinchingly fiery Lucy Van Pelt from the Peanuts comics/cartoons with all the gumption one can muster and that's my mom. I tend to be more subdued, socially anxious people pleaser (to a fault). Together we're quite the odd pair, but our senses of humor are the glue between us. I enjoy whatever I can with her, even if it's as simple as me texting pictures of weird Halloween decorations I just bought to her, in which she lovingly chuckles over the phone and replies about how strange I am, and that I find "beauty in anything." Would not trade the time I have with her for the world. Glad you're enjoying your time with your mom!

Jenny McKinsey

love this episode and would be happy to see more! i'm also close with my mom and this kind of trip would be right up our alley! i'm glad you got to spend such a lovely vacation together : ) <3

Alex

Love your Channel❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Morgan Morales

I love these vacation videos you do with your mom. You must come to Vermont and visit the Wilson castle, Hildene, and Park-McCullough Mansion. So much Beautiful 19th century architecture and most of them are haunted by the original owners!

Courtney

Oh so lovely to tour some of America’s ‘palaces’! Christine you inspired me to cherish time with my mom with a trip to the Winchester House as we live just a few hours away. It was so special for us…thank you for the inspiration to spend time together doing something we love!

Katie Milone

This was an absolutely fantastic and lovely episode. Please continue to make trip videos! And a tour of your wardrobe with emphasis on your vintage finds would be a great episode too!! The celadon dress neckline and sleeves are stunning! 🖤✨

Chris

It's a beautiful place ❤️ if you are into stately homes and castles like in the video then I can highly recommend coming to the north east (aberdeenshire) cause we gots lots!!!!! The most out of anywhere in Britain. It's known as Scotland's castle country.

Tanya Von Black

I’m hopefully visiting Scotland in the fall next year with my brother! I can’t wait!

Rachael LeBlanc

I live in Massachusetts and it’s always so fun to see other people enjoying the incredible history that is here and that surrounds us! Newport is one of my favorite places to visit and the breakers is one of the houses that I always remember. Your trip looked like so much fun and I love the little touch of the horse and buggy sounds you added.

Rachael LeBlanc

Thank you so much for sharing this special trip with your Mom. I would love to see more adventures with you and your Mom. I’m going to plan a trip based on your trip with my sister! ❤️

Ann Marley

What an absolute delight to be watching this today when outside here in Scotland it's definitely feeling spooky season. That plaster work was breathtaking. Tell yer mum I said hi! She's the sweetest ❤️

Tanya Von Black

I love the travel episodes. It’s a wonderful way to share experiences for those who can’t be there. Can you do a mini episode on how to do the map and moving horse buggy?

Jerilyn Campbell

I live in UK so these trips are just so exciting, as if I was there with you and what`s more you enjoy similar things as me so that is a real treat, thank you. More trips please :)

Agnieszka

Wonderful video Christine! So many beautiful houses, a feast for the eyes. I hope that you brought that wonderful black lace cape, it was stunning.

Sarah Billingham

Maybe there could be a directors’ cut or a BTS version that lingered on the ornament, paintings and interiors more. Obviously visiting in person would be the way to really take it all in, but I was breathless when the camera would pan across a parlor, ceiling, fireplace or wall of portraits. So much to see. Thanks!

Carl P Crossgrove

My wife and I enjoyed this episode, thanks!

Jack Myers

I love seeing your trips!

Giselle

I’m from Rhode Island! Thanks for featuring our little state. I plan on heading to the mansions when they are decorated for the holidays. I’ve been many times, but not during that time of year. If you’re ever back in our neck of the woods, there are also some wonderful historic places to wander around in Providence: Swan Point cemetery is gorgeous & the Athenaeum (library) is a perfect cozy hideaway. Also: I do love your adventures with your mom! You’ve also convinced me. I need a parasol!

Concetta

Hi Christine, What a great trip. Just my cup of tea, Something my daughter and I would love to do.

MARILYN E HART

I love these Mother Daughter trip videos so much 💕 Today is the 10 year anniversary of losing my Mother. She was my best friend and miss her everyday. To think of all the adventures and experiences that we will never have again, breaks my heart. But watching this, I saw a little of my Mother and me. It was like a gift from beyond that you posted this video today. I really needed this 🥰 Thank you Christine. Please continue to document and share your adventures together because I enjoy them so much. Please give your sweet Mother a hug for me and never take time for granted ✨

Courtney McCanlis

I grew up in Rhode Island. Visited New port many times. P-town is also nice. Long drive.

Honey Do

Hi... Thank you for a wonderful video.

Marcia Cowen

Christine, thank you for sharing your wonderful trip with us. It's great to see you and your mom enjoying all the things you love together. I believe the little creatures swimming around near the red inn are Atlantic horseshoe crabs, which tie into your mode of transportation perfectly. Oh my, the examples of coffered ceilings are incredible and I too hope you came home with the black velvet jacket....it is stunning on you!

Michelle Lofthouse

HI, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching this video with you and your Mom. You are both soooo lucky you can enjoy these moments together. I absolutely love Victorian decor so, it just made my day to watch this. I love your outfits and the "Horse Clippity Clops" were wonderful too. Great editing. Have a blessed holiday season.

Marcia Cowen

Christine, I had to watch this twice and I have to say you are as grande, classy and beautiful as each and every place you visited and stayed! You are so right, enjoy your time with your Mom because there will be a day when those moments will be but memories. I have fond memories of my Mother and would give anything to enjoy her company again. My best to the both of you and enjoy many more adventures with your beautiful Mother!

Anna Radaelli

So glad you and your mom get to spend time together on these wonderful trips. Hope you bought that black velvet blazer...so my style.

Leslie Langenegger

Beaurtiful video of your travels with your Mom. The Chanler Inn looks amazing and driving through the gate to the Inn is like going back to a more romantic time. Beautiful view from your balcony. I've gone up north to Oshkosh, WI and toured a few of the beautiful mansions there. They were built by the families that were in the lumber busness back at the turn of the last century when lumber was king.

Kris

Thank you for sharing! I loved this!

Elizabeth Hammond Miniatura

I love the added horse clippity-clops while you were driving :) Thank you for sharing your fantastic trip! I can not belive the houses people used to build

Angela Pearson

These little adventure videos are such a fun treat! It's always great seeing others reactions to some of these marvelous architectural gems. If you're ever heading south east in NY, I highly suggest checking out the Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington. It's one of the grandest octagon shaped homes in America. The couple who run "Cheap Old Houses" featured it in an episode of "Frozen In Design" on HGTV & MAX recently. If you go in the fall they have a cool collection oddities on display curated by Ryan Matthew Cohn. Also 5 minutes north is Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown. It's a marvelous gothic revival mansion used in many film productions and tv series, including the interior stand in for Aurora Fane's home on The Gilded Age. I got to work with their set decorator briefly with lending out some antique props for the house setting. It's a must see place I know you'd enjoy. There's also Glenview Mansion not too far from there going south which is worth a trip to see. If you're ever in PA, I'd checkout Fonthill Castle. It's like something out of Harry Potter and was build and created by an eccentric archeologist, scholar and antiquarian ceramicist. It's the "Sarah Winchester" of castles in the US. Next door to that is The Mercer Museum and the Moravian Potter & Tile Works Museum if you're interested in pottery & tile making :) —Ryan McFadden

Ryan McFadden

This episode made me finally decide to join your Patreon! I absolutely love the gilded age. You are an inspiration and I watch your videos on repeat!

Jenny

What a wonderful trip! And it's so nice to share it with us. I don't travel much but I like to be told enchanting vacations, like this one. Enjoy your Mum! You're so lucky to have her. I miss mine. You definitely have to come to Versailles and Trianon. Love from France!

Emy AUBIN

Oh yes! Please take us to Salem ❤️

Emy AUBIN

I love your travel episodes so much! I know understand why Americans that I follow on patreon or youtube don't travel much to other continents :D US is so diverse, there's so much to see there!

Dasha B

I love these episodes! I know it would not be new to you, but since you often go with your Mom, do you think you might consider doing an episode of Salem, Massachusetts sometime? You would know the most interesting areas to visit and could explain more of the history of areas. I would also love to see the shops through your eyes and items you would like for the manor. 😀

Deb McGrath

Hey everyone! Is there still a discord for this group? If so could you share it with me pls? Thank you!

Megan

Not the Knotty Pine!

EA Hanks

I'm so glad you got to go to Newport! My husband and I got married at Rosecliff and had our pictures done at the Elms, such a beautiful place!!

Mattnh4981

I think that one fixture in your bathtub is just unique to your house. 😂

Haley H

Thank you for sharing your vacations! 🥰 PS You MUST go and see The Biltmore in Asheville (NC) (also a Vanderbilt "home") - YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!! BEYOND EXTRAORDINARY

Sophia Z

Those little creatures were horseshoe crabs

Cynthia Watson

Thank goodness for the preservation society! Such a unique time in American architecture and interior design.

Heather Burke

Oh the inspiration in these homes! So wonderful you were able to experience the trip with your mom.

Melony Harrison

I got foo dogs tattooed on my shins in the image of the guardian lions at the Marble House tea house! This was my favorite one by far

Anna Tarasova

Christine! I can’t believe you didn’t go the Edward Gorey museum ! Just west of the base of the cape.

Karl Beck

I loved this. My daughter and I went to Newport one year for Christmas holiday and it was just decorated beautifully . Ty for sharing.

Carol Blum

Lovely vacation with your mom! The artistry (and expense!) of those estates is unbelievable.

Michele Cargill

Love this! I'm in Massachusetts and I love Cape Cod and Provincetown. This video has inspired me to visit Newport again - haven't been in a few years. If you ever plan to visit again, both Provincetown and Newport are amazing and beautiful in the autumn. They do ghost tours at some of the Newport mansions as well.

Elizabeth Verrill

Ooooh those desserts 🤤

Alison

So fun and special. Thanks for sharing.

Shaylin Cecere

I absolutely love Newport! ❤️

Marnie Kaler

I'd love to see some of your amazing ideas utilising the large victorian cloches. 🤗😘

Julie Wheeler

Will this year be a wand to be paired with your Bat-Gator Broom?

Patrick Horton

I toured The Marble House 50 years ago... I can still see it in my mind after all this time. That vacation left a permanent spot of joy in my memories.

Shelli Gwinn

Hello Christine, I can't wait to see your Halloween project!! It’s really a really cool video! I love renovation and decoration videos but I also really like travel videos. I'm also excited for the video on the roof ☺️ I hope you have a good day Arthur from Belgium

Arthur Mertens

The vacation and trips videos are like the sparkling red cherries on top! I love how you include details, graphics and information as well as being able to transfer the moods of the trips to us viewers. Plus both you and your mom are stunners so it’s like double eye candy!! (Rose would agree, no?) 🎀

Rana Boustany

we are being blessed with content <3

Abbie

I loved touring these mansions!

Ashley Randolph
