Wallpaper Part 2! AND the livestream update!

Hello!!

Here is the second installment of the wallpaper design episode! In just a moment I'll be posting a second bonus video, featuring the border that accompanies this design!

Because this project turned into such a monster and we are already at the end of the month, I'm going to bump out our monthly livestream into early April. To make up for this, We will be doing a longer craft along next month, PLUS a contest and a fun new episode :D

I hope you love this one! It and the border episodes are a couple of my very favorites! :)))

-Christine

Wallpaper Part 2! AND the livestream update!

Comments

Ditto! Was just thinking the same thing and revisited to see if there was any info.

Sarah French

Hi Christine! Any update on when this wallpaper will be available for purchase? I’m renovating my bathroom and would love to use it! ❤️❤️

Saoirse Ibarguen

I so would like to buy this for my house and the beautiful border

Simin

Wow I absolutely love how the wallpaper turned out. I’m in love with it.

Simin

Incredible work.

Kararaina Te Ira

Christine, you are the best! I am a graphic designer and I play your videos in the background as I work. There are a lot of Photoshop features available in Illustrator so you will pick it up super quickly. Drop shadow effects are not as smooth, but for the beginning part of this project you could draw your shapes in Illustrator and then import them in Photoshop and put your textures on. Conversely, you can make your shapes and save them out, and then import them in Illustrator to make arranging them easier. You inspire me to be a better artist!

Kathrine

Thank you x

Kelly Fisher

Screenshot and then print! I think that could work

Adrianne Grubbs

oh my god Christine PLEASE learn illustrator for your own sanity, if you already know Photoshop you'll pick it up super quickly, there are a ton of great intro courses on places like Skillshare.

EJ Baker

I wish I could download it as a wallpaper or colouring page... Amazing work

Kelly Fisher

Mind blowing... I can't wait to use this in our bathroom!

Tyler Young

This came out so amazing!! Just the right touch of spooky.

Alisha Frank

I love the wall paper pattern so much!! The detail is mind blowing. You are my favorite artist. This made my day.🫧🫧🫧

Amira Liese

OK, no idea of you read all the comments but have you ever thought of putting stuff like this up on Spoonflower?! I would totally buy this in fabric!

Shem Aronofsky

This looks amaaaazing!! We are building a house and I already know exactly which room this wallpaper is going in!! Would love also if it was a textured wallpaper but honestly either way I'm buying a roll if you start selling this!

Amy Moynihan

Where is the spider that is supposed to watch Chansie?!

Scribby Scribner

Christine...this is BONKERS level amazing and yet again I am in awe of your combined talent and patience when you commit to creating something. And the "ruined" aspect of it is SUCH a freakin cool finishing touch! BRAVA.

Christina Rodriguez

Brilliant! Also, want to purchase….NO. NEED to purchase! I’m obsessed!❤️ You are a master artisan!

Paige Phoa

What type of computer, and program are you using? I know you use Adobe 2022, but we're having problems with it, and we're wondering that we have the wrong computer for it.

Lisa Pierce

I'm in awe of your talent to unify the beautiful and the macabre into one cohesive theme and make it look absolutely stunning and alive with detail. You remind me of Morticia Addams in all the best ways possible. I so can't to see what you create next!

LynnD

This was my favorite episode ever!!!!!

Maria

This is gorgeous! My beauty room is beachy themed and I’m hoping to do my bedroom and bathroom the same but the colors are mostly neutral colors such as soft browns, tans, a little bit sea foam green

Amanda Smith

Your creativity and talent is absolutely astounding! Your attention to detail and dedication to perfecting every element really shines in this project and it paid off immensely! I am truly amazed (although not surprised) by how beautiful and unique this is!

Lauren Gamel McNeely

I’ve been wanting to add wallpaper to my dining nook. I honestly can’t think of a more perfect wallpaper.

Lela Nixon

Loved this episode what made you decide to go with a sea theme!?

Ashleeta

Printed on fabric would have sooo many possibilities!

Tammy Farrell

This looks PHENOMENAL!! I cannot believe how amazing this turned out - it's so beautiful and so unique. I can't wait to buy a roll to use for projects. I also love the idea of printing it on fabric if that's an option!

Sara Lone Fight

This is amazing! Let me know if you'd like tips/tricks/lessons with Adobe Illustrator! I'm a painterly illustrator but I work mostly in Adobe illustrator. I also do Instructional Design for a living so I'm experienced in teaching. Not to be too forward but my Instagram is @mistasierra if you'd like to see a teensy bit of my work.

Sierra

This looks amazing! I love the color scheme

Laura Chambers

It's 8 inches from the glass door and ventilator. The firewall itself is well built. I was taking inspiration from Pacific Molds fireplace skull kit and using refractory cement for that 8 inches, but my fireplace is way smaller than the one they show. It's way down on my list, i need to repaint and get my curtains done first.

Elizabeth Schartok

I like turtles.

Enrique Rivera

Magical. Magical. Magical. We are so fortunate to have your talent unfold before our eyes. Wow. Thank you!

Enrique Rivera

You’ll want to investigate code in your area, but generally, I believe anything within six to eight inches of the firebox opening must be fireproof. Aside from complying to code, that’s just smart. Once you sort that out, you’ll have a better idea of where you’ll have to position things and then will be able to plan your materials better. 😊

Brandon Grew

that was just amazing. I admit I was skeptical at first, with all the details, how you would manage to turn it into one cohesive look that wouldn't overwhelm everything. I shouldn't have doubted you. the colorscheme is indeed gorgeous and I can't wait to see how it will look on a wall, let alone in a fully decorated room. I am absolutely blown away by this. Than k you so much for sharing this with us

Sonja Corterier

I thought there was enough room in the medallion with the seahorse for both seahorses.

NightshadeButterfly

🐙🐙ahhh this was just so good

Sam Hussey

I'm in love ! All I can think about is printing it on fabric to make a dress or skirt form :D don't know it the scale would fit ;) excellent piece of art !

Marijke Peeters

I love this so much! Thank you for all you do.

Bethany A. McConnell

I know you would like to have this printed up. I am not sure if you are thinking the paste kind of wallpaper or the peel and stick- have you given any thought to that? In unrelated events, I will now be redoing my bathroom in a mystical shipwreck theme…😉

Jenna Homan

I keep watching these new episodes and thinking that if Ursula had wallpaper in her lair, it would be this. So perfect. 🐙

Brandon Grew

This is Amazing 🧡 I absolutely love it especially all the details. You are most definitely a perfectionist 😊 and there is nothing wrong with that.

Magdalena Mojica

Same here. (T.N.T()--✹

Alexia Wilson

The wallpaper and frieze are simply gorgeous! I could do the frieze, but the wallpaper would be way too much for my little 8-foot ceilings, that pattern NEEDS tall ceilings to work properly. But it is simply beautiful!

Tammy R Dowden

I am mindblown. It's simply astonishing.

Iris Lican

OMG so much work on Photoshop. When you duplicate do you press Shift at the same time as Alt ? It will move perfectly vertical or horizontal. You have to try Smart object too it will be useful for you. And when you want to erase for exemple your color on the octopus, press Ctrl and click on the thumbnail of the layer it will save you time! But OMG you are so talented

Gaëlle Saunier

It’s so amazing. I love watching everything you make & this design definitely gave me Cthulhu vibes. LOVE IT. If you ever sell the design, I’m going 100% buying.

Vi

The details of this wallpaper are amazing!!

Lesley M Sgro

Very cool! It is so funny that we are coming up on the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic soon. I can imagine this being one of the rooms of the Titanic slowly decaying or in the case of the Titanic quickly decaying ... funny around this time of year there always seems to be a collective remembrance of the Titanic even unintentional. I was reading something on the Titanic recently and didn't even know it was nearing the anniversary. The Ghosts of Titanic still LIVE! :)

Andie

Love seeing the wallpaper designs! I work as a textile designer and it's really interesting to see how you approach these era specific patterns. A Photoshop tip: Photoshop released a feature in the 2021 update to work in Pattern Preview under the view tab, it's amazing! It allows you to paint, erase, and do most other things when working in repeat. The prior way to more easily create repeats in Photoshop is to Offset, which is under adjustments (still good for really large files that may have issues in pattern preview), this allows you to move layers so that you can see and fix pattern breaks on the edges (this has to be adjusted by individual layer though).

Victoria Lewandowski

Where will we find the "take my money" link when the time comes?

Angela Pearson

I have not used photo shop for any work like what you're doing at all. I had a wacom board and never had time to use it on the pc. Now I have a mac and will get the wacom . Which one are you using and the arm that you have , is that the one they have as an extra or is that something else ? If you're not using illustrator, what are you using to draw these out when you scan them in whilst on the computer? Was it all done on the wacom ? It must have taken you years to learn photo shop. I only just got a mac and I am much older, need to learn it quickly!

Linda Pastorino

I always find myself watching the time because I don’t want the videos to end. I love watching you perfect the details and put it all together. Thank you!

ProlificComplainer

Amazing!!!!

Shelby Snow

Agree! <3

Anna McCambridge

I adore your attention to detail, Christine. Your imagination is nonpareil! In PhotoShop, it seems to me that you fully enjoy the act of using the paintbrush, and I have a tip that may help you love it even more. When you are painting (or erasing, for that matter) anything in a straight line, you can click once with the brush (or eraser) tool, and then hold down the shift key and click at the other end of the straight line to fill in that area in one shot. This may not be helpful, as I know you like things to have a more painterly, hand-created look—one of things I enjoy about your style—but when working with patterns and such, or erasing a background from a table or something like that, it can save time which you can then spend on the more fun aspects of painting. Also, you are going to LOVE Illustrator! You can simply create one piece of a pattern, and go to Pattern>Make, and it creates a pattern which you can then adjust to your satisfaction. (Then take it back into PhotoShop to add your unique details) Thank you for sharing your process; it's hypnotic and fascinating! Anna

Anna McCambridge

A feast for the eyes!....And the heart. Every aspect of this video is exquisite...the drawings are breath-taking and so is the editing and music. I can't wait to see how this pattern comes back in printed form! Thank you once again for sharing your technique and talent.

Michelle Lofthouse

Loved this

Emma Cross

She makes million dollar wallpaper! It looks like the sea coming in.

Alyne Whiteswan

Absolutely amazing! Turned out even better than I imagined :)

Andrea Robertson

This is so stunning! Such a vibe that’s right up my street 🤩🖤

Laura

11 out of 10! Beautiful.

Alaskan Rock Vodka

wow

Ester Brunini

Really beautiful!!! It reminds me of the mansion from Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows movie. It has that gothic nautical theme. All you need is an oil painting of a sinking ship or something! In Photoshop, have you used Pattern Preview? In the menu bar, it’s under View>Pattern Preview. It automatically puts your print into repeat and you can edit it in there too. It saves a lot of time lining up your edges to match.

Sandy

Just Stunning!! Absolutely amazing work Christine 🧡

Amber Noseworthy

Absolutely incredible work! You may be aware of it already but if not you should try out the software Procreate for the Apple Ipad Pro drawing tablet for this kind of project involving symmetry and repeating patterns. It has features where you can draw one half of a frame for example and it mirrors what you draw. The Wacom tablet you use most likely has similar features to this too (I've never used it) but it has totally revolutionised the way i work and how much faster i can do things. Keep up the amazing work!

Jamie

Amazing!! 🤯❤️🐙

Ramblin Wreck

I live in a pretty modern (1980's) cape cod and I desperately want to redo my fireplace mantle and hearth. How would I go about doing something sculpted that's fire safe but spooky. Like I know the mantle itself can be wood, but I want it to look like gnarly tree trunks are holding it up and I'm not sure how to go about that. I would love to see some suggestions onhow to go about that.

Elizabeth Schartok

Such intricate designs and the end result gives "sunk under the sea" vibes. Your sea monster reminds me of Loch Ness. Did you know NY has its own monster in Lake Champlain?

Leslie Langenegger

Yay! New episodes. This sounds daft but you were so radio silent this month I was wondering if it was due solely to the project being so huge, or worried maybe you were sick or something. I certainly hope that there is nothing of the latter to worry about. Delighted to have some new videos to relish in tonight. I'm going to make some dinner and get stuck in. Thanks Christine. I look forward to your livestream :)

Tadgh Kirby

You said that when you draw the you think your work looks a bit rough ? Do you do warmup sketches before you start working, I’ve heard they can help you loosen up the muscles you need to draw with . Maybe try some in a drawing program , it might help .

Carrie

Perfect timing! I’m currently working on the current batch of Nautilus light up signs for our NoSleepTillCosplay Etsy shop (like the one I offered to send to you as a gift). So this is perfect to play in the background as I am patinaing 😊

Jennifer Carter

Yay! I am so happy. Can't wait to watch. Thank you, Christine.

Mononoke Adams

What an amazing and unique design. It has so much magic and mystery to it. I wish I could purchase this wallpaper for my very own. I absolutely love it.

Andre Hall

That’s awesomely groovy xxx

Eirwen

I’m loving this so much! I do a lot of repeating patterns for my merch brand (Black Mast) and I could show you how to mathematically move pieces in photoshop using the X and Y fields at the top of the screen for that precise placement! Illustrator might be a little more difficult to work with since you have so many hand drawn / scanned in elements in your work.

Brandon Redenius

Wow! It looks amazing. All the hard worked definitely paid off.

Yaragirl

Oh my goodness I must have this paper for my Victorian craft cave!!!

Lesley Niezynski

This is beyond. I can't wait to see it, not just in printed form but on the walls. Wow.

Camilla Brasher

Absolutely love how it turned out!!!

Bobby Champlin

I really don’t know how you do it Christine! This is truly such an amazing piece and I am always so blown away by your talent!

Paul Fliedner

I can't get over this. My new goal is to have enough money to invest in an old home and have this wallpaper in my bathroom. I've always liked creepy sea creatures in my bathroom and you just took a piece of my subconscious and put it in a design. The color scheme is even something I can work with!

Riona O'Faoladh

You are such an inspiration! Amazing work! 🖤

Lisa

Yay !! So excited!! Thank You Christine!💜🖤🦇💜🖤🦇💜🖤🦇💜🖤🦇💜🖤🦇

Danielle Gutierrez

This is amazing. You have so many talents it’s unbelievable!

Gina Radford

I use illustrator literally all day long. What do you want to know?

Genevieve Fernety

Can’t wait!

VStreet

I love watching everything you come out with!! Excited for this video and the long craft along 🥰

Karen

Christine! this is a great video. Thank you! Also, on Illustrator, I took a fundamentals class via Lynda/Linkedin and also one via Behance and it completely retrained me on AI and how to work quickly and efficiently. I believe they are still free courses too.

John Gardner

How funny, I just checked an hour ago for the new episode! So excited <3 Thanks for all your work!

Maria Aragon

I sent a message about the tier I’m on could you take a look?

Desiree Coon

I'm still at work so will be rushing home to watch this soon

Adam Gibson

Love it!!! 🖤 When can we buy it? Very interested!!! 🖤
