I wanted to share my progress and update you on what you can expect in the weeks to come :D
So, I'm finding buying a house across the country during a pandemic makes planning a little tricky... We thought we were going to be closing this last Thursday, and then it got pushed out to the first week of August :P That's the blah news...
The good news is, this leaves me with a minute to film another exclusive episode for you! So I'm thinking I'm going to film how I'm staging and photographing my forest home in CA and giving you all a sneak peak of how the listing will look before it goes live! (We plan to list it the minute we get in the car and leave :D)
I was also thinking, let's do a 'Summer campfire S'mores making' livestream this coming Thursday the 30th at 7:00 PM PST! That way we can snack and chat about this move ;D (I'll post again about this the day before to let you know the ingredients I'll be using) ... I may even work a ghost story into this one...
I hope you all are well and that your homes don't look as crazy as our storage unit currently does! :))

Things have not gone as planned and we are about to welcome a third child this September, in a VERY small apartment. And I’ve got walls of boxes everywhere right now. My poor kitchen is screaming! I wish my storage unit looked that tidy! My husband did not at all think when he put stuff in there the last time I had him take boxes up. Congrats on getting your house! I hope the move goes smoothly and you get to see so much! If you go through the Saint Louis area, check out Alton, Illinois! It’s “America’s Most Haunted Small Town.” The folks at the Mineral Springs Mall there absolutely LOVE talking about the town and suggesting tours and such.

Really it’s just a labyrinth at this point. It has been way more stressful that I ever expected, but I am so excited to get in the new house and start creating! I may not get to watch the s’mores and ghost stories this Thursday but will definitely watch it over the weekend at some point. Also, try Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with your s’mores. So good!

Idk if I’m the only one here who does this, but every time we have a thunderstorm (I live in South Jersey) I sit down in my bed with my little quilt I’m currently sewing and put on episodes from christine’s Patreon or sometimes the Netflix special. Since we lived in an apartment we'd sit on the floor around the oil lamp, heat up our s'mores (made with marshmallow cream since we're vegetarians) via spaghetti tons over the lamp ha-ha and I'd tell them ghost stories from "Scary Stories You Tell in the Dark". They loved it! My daughter Jaedyn is continuing the tradition she said when her kids are old enough.

My sister just sold her house and the pandemic did a number on her timetable as well (as if selling / buying a house couldn't already be a challenge). "Dandies" brand makes a great vegan marshmellow and "Enjoy Life" does the best milk chocolate vegan substitute I've tried! 👍

I sew and do lots of crafts and my staging techniques are just a black board and a camera. Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Pack with care, label every box, and if possible, make list of what's in every box. Safe and happy travels!

My husband and I took the long, beautiful, road less traveled road trip to see his parents and ended up coming home with all kind of family pieces from the early 1900s. Also, I do like the idea mentioned in one of the comments above, about your equipment for livestreaming. I teach a class here and there and I'd love to figure out how to get the right setup. Also, the house news is so exciting! I hope things aren't too difficult and that you at least get to enjoy this process a bit. The destination may be the exciting part, but never forget, and always appreciate, the journey. I have been so inspired by everything you do, and I'm currently in the process of remodeling my apartment for a more vintage and cozy feel. I am turning my giant living room into two sections: a cozy parlor with a fireplace, and a vintage study (which I know were more for gentlemen but I'm a writer so I need an office lol) with specimens and my vivarium for my snake. I'm doing it in a dark cherry wood finish (for everything) and dark damask furniture covers. I just need to pick paint and I'll be all set. But I really hope to share my befores and afters in you facebook fan club groups lol Anyway, please remember to breathe, relax, and enjoy the ride to your new home sweet haunted home!
