Update on Drawing for the Bat cage!!

So it's come to my attention there's a legal issue with doing a drawing. But don't worry, I've figured out another way to give this to one of you :D
So in lieu of a drawing I will be asking a question on Monday's livestream and the first person to type in the right answer will win the cage!
The livestream will be at 6:30 PM PST Monday September 30th and I will give plenty of advance notice before it goes live
The question will be pop culture related and not terribly difficult to either know or google quickly. The question will happen probably 10-15 minutes into the stream.
I really love giving my work away and if I had the time, I would make something for each of you. So one way or another, every month I will figure out a way to make at least one person happy while also avoiding the gas chamber for myself in the state of California :P

I don't know, but as always love the work and its definitely helping to inspire me to do more creative things

I'm not sure how that would impact California laws but it might help. I'm so excited for your October content, you are an absolute inspiration!! <3

Not everyone can do livestream at a particular time. So perhaps moving forward exploring different all inclusive options for drawings might be possible?

You could open a quiz or contest a day or two before to Patreon users and all those who take the quiz would qualify. 2019-09-27 23:53:41 +0000 UTCThese are all in the context of their legal terms and when using the term raffle, it constitutes as almost a lottery (which legally there is a difference) which is different from a "sweepstakes". For instance in my state, a person must obtain a License to run both a raffle or lottery. Now if the people you buy raffle tickets from do it legally or not, I do not know. But in all 50 states raffles, lotteries,sweepstakes, and contests have some amount of regulation and rules determining what their definition is in that state. Hope this helps with your frustration in the turn of events happening. I am pretty frustrated too. This is a bummer

2019-09-27 22:36:42 +0000 UTCIn the USA, it is illegal to charge someone to enter a "Sweepstakes" (a random, NON-SKILL based, chance for a prize) Because we as patrons give Christine money to make the art that we love, that could be construed as us "Paying to enter" a sweepstakes. No money is allowed to change hands for a sweepstakes in America. Now in a "Contest" money can change hands, but by definition that is a SKILL based, chance to win something. (contests have judges). So to stay in line with the laws and not pay a large fine, she has to somehow make this a skill based chance to win.

That way it's still a game of "skill" (contest) but it randomizes from all the patrons. I am able to watch the live streams so I am happy either way, but i feel for the patrons who are across the pond or who have to work at night.

2019-09-27 19:44:54 +0000 UTCFYI: I am in Central time and when I went to double check how far ahead "PST" was I was informed on the website I was using that "Pacific Standard Time is not currently observed see Pacific time" PST was actually one hour earlier than Pacific Time... so now I'm confused (I'm terrible with timezones anyway) but yall should be aware and double check your start times.
