Discord Issues and Moving Forward
Added 2023-08-09 22:01:57 +0000 UTCThis is an unfortunate post to have to make, but I have permanently removed the PSR discord server. As of right now there are no immediate plans to start another server going forward.
First off, I want to thank everyone who has supported me and continues to support me through Patreon. As a solo creator who films, edits and makes all my content entirely by myself, your support has been critical over the past two years.
When I began the discord server I was a much different phase of my journey in life and on youtube. I was far more active on the server in the beginning, and had a lot more free time to spend on the platform. As you are probably aware, I am no longer active on the server.
Lately I have heard from reports from both users and moderators of multiple violations of the guidelines set for conduct within the server. I cannot continue to support a place that pushes groups of people away from learning and participating in 3D2A, and I can’t have this activity associated with me as a creator.
I deeply apologize to those who never broke the rules and have been affected by this decision. If you feel like withdrawing your $1/month pledge of support I fully understand and respect that.
Once again, thank you all for the continued support and I have and continue to feel the love from you all.

2023-09-21 16:23:32 +0000 UTCyou wouldn't' be open to using my server? i have a server that i boost to level two every month by myself just so i can stream to my friends in 1480p i could give you all admin permissions i dont care if hater report it and get it banned i can always make a new one. it would just make life easier for ppl like me who want to learn about this. a server makes everything's more convenient let me know if anything i sure others would appreciated it. if anything make the server a tier $5 on your patron that way they would have to spend more money to report it. i dont want any profit. just would like this information easier to access

My server is meant to be a direct continuation of the original, with some minor changes. These changes are partially for the purpose of clean-up and making the server nicer, and partially for better transparency and moderation. As for my thoughts on the decision, I have to say most of the replies here are pretty accurate. It was a problem that could’ve easily been calmly and thoroughly solved, but was instead nuked out of existence. It really is a shame because we had helped so many people start from the ground up on their journey in 3D2A. The server was extremely welcoming and we felt much more close than most other discord servers. Many people (myself included) even expressed that the server has helped their mental state. The few who were problematic were not representative of the server as a whole, and I am sincerely shocked and disappointed to see it end like this. 2023-08-11 15:30:16 +0000 UTCI wasn't in this discord, but I've had this sort of thing happen and everyone that was active was scrambling trying to find everyone and add them to another discord (after being blindsided like that). The owner was also not happy with some disagreements and just necked the server like that, despite the fact that the discord should have just been maintained better. But hey it's your choice at the end of the day and I don't know all the details, I'm just reading what others are saying. Perhaps it was a lot worse than I'm imagining. What's done is done either way guys, best to move on.

As far as I've seen, I didn't see any violations, I'm sure there was, but again, super EASY solution to that. I really don't see how deleting the server was the answer. It sounds like you're just putting the blame on everyone else. And it feels like you deleted it without any regard for the people who were in there using it for its intended purpose. Because you could have gave the server to someone else to run. Which was basically already the case. I'm not sure if discord even has the option to promote someone to have full control over it but you could have at the very least, a week in advance made the announcement that you were closing the server, and allowed a moderator or whoever was willing to take ownership of the community to post an invite link to a new server with a different name and theme.

Yea some people were getting out of hand, but you made a bigger attempt at getting rid of mods that were actually engaging others in chat than attempting to actually moderate the people causing problems. Your lackluster idea of moderation wasn't a whole lot better than the crap coming from the shitposters honestly. so now we all lose all the helpful and positive aspects of the group chat because of a combination of disrespect and laziness.

The bare minimum solution would have been to turn off chat and let people know they need to find somewhere else to go. Instead you had a rage quit / easy way out moment and it can not be un-done. Now you have the outrage coming from the people that suddenly lost friends without warning. The loss of the PSR discord is a minor inconvenience. The loss of friends is crushing.

Not like you would know since you weren't active, but the community there was actually thriving and now everybody is scrambling to figure out everyones usernames to stay connected because of your negligence. I'm not tryna be a dickhead, I'm just giving you feedback, You definitely have 20 minutes or more a day to engage with your supporters and fans of you man. Even if you said one thing a day, or posted one meme, or anything. Essentially how I see it is, You created something that's very useful to people, you found it not useful to you or got bored or whatever it may be, you found it too hard to manage. So you just delete it for everybody? You were quite literally the boss of wtf went on in there. And if people are acting up, it is such an incredibly easy fix, if its a moderator, replace him. If its a user, have the moderators ban them. Or maybe take 5 minutes to read through the chat and and start hitting people with the ban hammer yourself? Your content and insights have been genuinely valuable to me, and that's why I chose to support you on Patreon. Although it was only $1, I would've paid $5-10 as the minimum for the value and info I was getting in return. In my honest opinion. I think its nonsense. You could have even just stepped aside and somehow transferred ownership. Unless you are currently being held in an interrogation room and they forced you to delete it and write that, there's just no good reason. While I respect your choice, I hope you understand where I'm coming from. I will still continue to support you because I think what you do is interesting and I enjoy your reviews on things and I know youtube doesn't allow you to give a lot of info, (which is another reason I joined the discord) but I enjoy the new info you give everyday. These people choose to act like a victim every chance they get. Its who they are. You will never please these people. Bending over for them only hurts YOU and the reasonable people in the room.
