So, what am I doing right now?

Well, after a bit of relapse after the continuous mad dash of a daily art challenge, something that is completely incompatible with my lifestyle and I won't try EVER again, I've gone back to the Celebrity Bangmatch comic, wrote a rough script I've yet to edit, and I'm doing the sketches for the pages in bulk.

You might remember, or even notice by looking at the pages of the past match, that the stadium is made in 3D with Blender, and that was a time saver but also a restriction that replaced my personal interpretation of space with a rigid geometrical render, and I'm trying to find some middle ground between the two extremes.

Another thing I want to do now, and it might sound pretty ridiculous, is to model a roster of simplified body types, like the one I posted a year ago but *better*, to use as very rough tracing guides.

Is it cheating? Well, I'm using models derived from my art, and not settling with something downloaded from the internet, for starters. Secondly, they will have extremely simplified anatomy, like late PSX numbers of polygons, and I'm pretty sure that they will do the whackiest foldings of skin as soon as I move them too much, that I will have to compensate with my own knowledge of anatomy. And exactly because of that I feel like I'm past the point where the usage of 3D can stunt my learning of artistic anatomy.

It will take some days to model these guys in 3D and it will postpone my expected release of this match, but I feel like it's one of these "honing the blade" kinds of occasions that will make my process more efficient in the long term.

In the meanwhile, express your opinions on my choices of body types!

Shows how ignorant I am I didn't get that. Sorry. Thanks for politely educating me

Ha, I didn't draw chubbier body types because fat tends to make shapes rounder, so I can just add it on the 2D artwork. If you're confused, that's the amount of support I want from the 3D models https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ33WBtOavQ. In other words, they're just a tool to keep proportions right even in more bizarre poses and shots, or for not falling back to normal proportions even when the character is very peculiar, like Leomon and his giant feet and hands.

That's why I say they will be a very rough guideline, with every detail added in the 2D phase, detail like facial features and fat level. I will use them just to handle very strong foreshortening

Huh. Okay. Just wondering where how and let the chubbies, you have made them, and more ductile go. There are variations I would not think about. Orc. Vs. Gorilla. Anthro versus beast. So onto something But stuff am concerned about If. If. I were to say a DEsign aspect I might not like it would be a level of sameness to body types. This alone disproves me technically Moreover it is something given post and other comments you seem to want to avoid. Perhaps some more variations with each model. Beast, hank Mccoy, the 90s animated series had to make him move distinctly in ways from someone not just strong buy bestial, in a mostly distinct way from wolverine. Much as with gambit, cyclops, and wolverine. And they had just as if not worse errors and consistency issues as you might and you're one guy with an entirely different full time job on top of this and no other infrastructure for models or assistants or an editor or etc. So it's always a trade off. Moreso adapting many different designs and poses and expressions each needing new portrayals and angles I would as adding on to this librar6, which is good thing not a cheat to me. make a small number of distinct body expressions. Stances, torsos, motions...to each one That way not as punished or from scratch every re-pose or angle as, grappel, strike, turn the"camera" about distort or stretch or squash for effect. Or can focus on facial expressions if not have to reinvent the body anew at stock angles, perspectives, and contortions. But not an artist just a consumer. O e thing thinking about is your anthro and beast. Good. But is the variations just the head and claws? Not even how...carry the weight or walk. Like horse head man same as anthro elephant? Wolfman and fox man? Hank vs. Sonson or Blanka? I remember your fire team so know not true. But how not aid if only with more distinct or unique body poses to type can play off of
