Twelve pages
Added 2022-06-27 14:22:25 +0000 UTCSo, I've finished the layout of the Kraven Vs Incineroar match of CBM (plus the interlude), and it's twelve pages. Not panels, pages with an average of five panels each.
I'm a bit intimidated but also excited because that means I can play freely with the spaces and the position of the balloons. Instead of cramming dialogues along the border of a panel, I can place them according to a flow. Make the bombastic actions big and the supportive ones tiny.
Yeah, they often go out of the frames, and often seems like characters want to sniff the armpit of their doubles in the next panel, but what can you do about that. 😅
Plus, they're partly already done. The one for Gorilla Boxing Day will come back with backgrounds and dialogues, and I've already done the sketches of the patrons' self-inserts (I use the term in the most endearing way possible) that are starting their own bang-matches in the other spaces of the stadium.
(I guess it would have been unrealistic to expect a horde of burly dudes to watch an event like this in person and sit straight on their chairs all the evening, right?)
Speaking of which, the creation of the 3D model of the stadium has already paid off itself. The patrons that already got the sketches of their self-inserts might have noticed how sweet is to have a background already, and it is. Moreover, having already the perspective of the background displayed helps me a lot coming with the right kind shot I want for my characters as well, to draw them like they're all standing on the same surface and being captured by the same PoV, instead of floating in the air.
So yeah, I can't say how much it will take, since it's the firs time that I undertake such a load of work (I guess three weeks) but it will be a lot of fun.
