Hey I'm back, sorry for the silence. I had a pretty big and quite elaborate commission to work on, plus I wanted to go back to studying some color theory because I'm not satisfied with the outcomes of both CMB and SkyHorn.
From an anatomy standpoint I've improved a lot in the last year, but with the colors, ugh, often the characters merge with the background or I have to use ugly greenish colors just to make them stand out. All those tutorials about complementary, triadic colors and such don't help you at all when you have to work with more than one character with a distinct palette onscreen. But now I've found a method that could help: using also saturation, value, and contrast, to make the subjects stand out. Still practicing it, I hope you already notice a shift in distinctiveness.
