My First Walk Cycle - Featuring Leomon
Added 2020-07-30 19:20:05 +0000 UTCCelebrating with a huge delay the Leomon Day. I’m a Leo, I owe it to the anime character that infected me with the furry virus when I was a middle schooler.
That sassy smile isn’t in character at all for the sacrificial hero we got to know in the anime. But remember, Leomon isn’t just a character, but an entire species of champion Digimon. Champion level Digimon aren’t so rare, maybe ou there are Leomon with a cheerful attitude as well.
Maybe out there there are entire packs of Leomon, that scout the savannahs of Digiworld in their tight leather pants and during the day they sleep on rocks and lick their toes.
But putting him in a walk cycle was a bad idea.
Not the walk cycle itself, but using a character with such weird proportions as Leomon. He has big ass hands and feet, that made him drag them on the ground from most of the cycle. And still, they aren’t as big as the original character design.
Pretty sure that if I rewatch all the episodes of the various anime series that feature him, I would hardly find a full-body scene of him walking or running.
Currently, this is a two secs animation with a 12 per second frame rate. I had to slow it down because on such a quick cycle the smile animation would have been wasted. I’m starting to understand people that use tweening for animating because it’s such a chore. Especially the in-between frames.
But still funny, and I’m pretty sure that’s something that will be useful also for the comic and most of all for the visual novel I’m studying.
