Mermen Designs #7 - Nerites
Added 2020-05-04 20:54:00 +0000 UTCNerites was a sea god mostly known for being the lover of Poseidon and having made a son with him: Anteros, the god of requited love. Not quite male-P, but the force of love that generates beings out of nothing.
And like Poseidon had a soft spot for Nerites, I have a soft spot for these creatures, that I designed a good two years ago, out of speculation about the appearance and biology of cetacean mammals.
They should have been featured in my "serious" comic, The Hunter, but I can still make them live during Mermay, and maybe also at SkyHorn Island.
The only two major changes from the earlier version are that their genitals are not retractable, and have to wear clothes and bands to protect them, and at SkyHorn Island the feminine gender doesn't exist.
They use the scimitar because a curved blade works better underwater. They're quite an elaborate species, on the technology side.
