Dartgirl arrived out of nowhere in 1964 when she debuted as Pyrrah's mysterious sidekick, but the Amazon Teen Angel was immediately beloved by the public. Her instant stardom triggered a wave of merchandise and media properties, including Dartgirl comic books, dolls, mystery novels, lunchboxes, clothing and makeup lines, as well as a popular television series. Dartgirl's exploits came to an end when she was tragically killed on live television in 1974. This was the end of Dartgirl's story, but where did it begin?
The answer lies not in the past, but in the future. In the late 21st Century, Chryseis, the second Amazon Arrow, was rejuvenated and reborn into a new body with the aid of Apollo, God of the Sun. This new form granted her solar-enhanced strength and invulnerability in direct sunlight, but at the cost of the muscle-memory that made her the world's greatest archeress. To compensate for her lost skills, an Amazon armorer provided Chryseis with a magical set of wrist-mounted dart throwers that fire a variety of trick flechettes, including smoke bombs, explosives, tranquilizers and tasers. As these events unfolded, Chryseis realized that there were many similarities between her present condition and descriptions of Dartgirl, Pyrrah's famous partner from the 20th Century.
There were far too many parallels to be a coincidence, but what exactly did that mean? Was it Chryseis's destiny to one day travel back in time to become the Dartgirl of the 20th century? And, if so, did that mean that she was fated to be killed in 1974? Rather than attempting to hide from this mystery, Chryseis has decided to meet it head on. Embracing a new codename and costume, Chryseis now fights crime as Dartgirl!
An adoring and nostalgic public has greeted the mysterious return of Dartgirl with open arms, igniting a new wave of merchandizing. Unfortunately, the miraculous resurrection of Dartgirl has also inspired the return of Pyrrah and Dartgirl's Silver Age rogues gallery.
Can Dartgirl stop these dastardly fiends? Stay tuned! Same Dart-time! Same Dart-channel!
