Weekly Update #2

This time, with all my bad luck with file systems, and delayed work that some reason becomes more delaying with the time (it must be one of Murphy's laws) I have just two pics from this week to show you.

Both related with He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (MOTU for fans)

The second is not yet published. Wait for Monday.

Who is the guy in black leather? Well, some of you may have noticed that on Twitter or Instagram, maybe some of you are here for that.

Let's say, I decided that, if I have to be a whore to become famous, let's be an epic whore.

He is Rogan Richards, a porn performer, and bodybuilder famous for his cocky attitude, a fan of He-Man, and for sure inspired by that beefcake with a diva haircut, to become such a concentrate of stereotyped masculinity.

He loves He-Man, I love He-Man and him grunting and snarling in his performances, so let's make a fanart featuring him.

He liked it.

It his just his FUCKING AVATAR RIGHT NOW.

And HE asked ME for another fanart in which he wrestles against Beast-Man. I made it, and it will be published tomorrow, but I'm not so satisfied with that.

I wanted to put too many elements (the background, He-Man enjoying the show, Battlecat grooming) that I had not the time to properly ink and colorize. I want to do it again.

In the meanwhile, do you remember my whining about the injustice of IG? Well, I obtained the second place.

Yay! Fortunately, they didn't rank the best pics on the basis of the likes, except in the "chose from the community" category, but on the decision of a group of judges.

Anyway, I recognized, I was just whining last time. And I noticed that when I found myself using the same (more or less) words of a great whiny bitch of Instagram. And that made me think.

(Do you want to know who that great bitch is? Well, let's say that he publishes a series of stripes where the too accurate style doesn't match at all with the "comic" tone, so exhausted that it's no more trying.)

I cannot moan about artists, less skilled or way too sillier, than me for their success on IG. It's not a place meant for my type of art. Or a coloring style that uses a lot of dark, dusty and unsaturated color.

Instagram is the place for illustrations with simple forms and bright colors that can be figured out from a distance. That's not bad, just the reality.

So, stop trying to compete in a field that's not mine and channel my energy in getting better as an artist!

Speaking of which, I downloaded an app, called Habitica, that uses the logic of RPG rewards for completing tasks and sticking to good habits in real life.

I'm currently following three challenges: reading, healthy sleep (gosh!) and lucid dreaming.

Do you wanna join in? I'm there with the nickname of @rickleone, trying desperately to find food to give to my horde of wolf pets.
