3rd Anniversary News #4

Fourth news about the Anniversary! This time a more in depth post explaining some of the new mechanics I've been working on, alongside with other stuff regarding gameplay.

I'll be showing some of the footage from the video of the previous news, so consider checking that out before reading this.

(I'd love to show more footage but right now I'm trying to produce as much art for the game as possible, which has left me not much time to work in the RPGM MZ Project).

STATS AND PROGRESS CHECKS:

As you could see before, in the Anniversary Update you'll have 5 stats for the protagonist: The names are the same as in the picture (Strenght, Intelligence, Charm, Kindness and Magic) and can be leveled during the main story, sidequests or while exploring the map and performing certain actions.

They can also be lowered if you choose certain things but most of the time it won't be that much.

What are the stats for? Well, these are mostly to make sure you've played and explored enough, acting like some sort of block; don't worry though, I'll try to keep it low for stuff related to NSFW content.

Here are some of the ways I'm applying the stats:

NEW DAY/NIGHT SYSTEM:

As you can see, now the days are not only divided by time (as in the PRGM MV project) but now it's divided also by day!

 

What does this mean? Well, I can now add more customized routes/routines for the girls, depending on which day and hour you'll have to explore a bit more to know where they are.

Some times, you may not be able to find them at all! That, of course, until you progress enough to unlock the zone they're in.

The structure for the time system is almost the same as how it has worked so far basically:

Early Morning -> Morning -> Afternoon -> Night - Late Night

NEW PROGRESS ON THE GIRLS:

Finally, I'm going to talk about how the Control and Friendship levels scale and what they do.

For the Control/Hypnosis it'll be the same as before: You meet the girl, unlock the hypnosis session after some event, then farm to unlock more events with her.

For the Friendship it's almost the same, just that these unlock new outfits, new stuff to do in the map, SFW scenes and a less "generic" type of hypno (this meaning, different scenarios from the Control progression ones).

Just a heads up, I may or not add all of this yet since I'm already struggling with the update as it is.

Another thing worth of note is that now the Control Level you have on each girl will affect how you can use the gadgets on them (Might talk about it next post since this one is getting pretty long).

I'm sure I am forgetting something but doesn't really matter, it's probably a QoL change and I'll be talking about those next time.

It'll probably be just a huge list detailing everything that you guys may want to know, since some of that stuff was recommended in the survey I did some months ago.

I didn't really know where to fit this but it's a very importatnt thing: I'll be delaying the update until it's ready. Yes, I was not ready for all the work this would mean, and even after cutting off a lot of content, seems like I'm going to take a while to get this properly done.

I am really sorry to say this as I wanted it to be something nice for you guys but I seriously can not complete this by Match 4th as I originally intented. I'll probably be posting drawings, news and commission while I work on the game. This last ones also being used to fund the game and my life expenses while I am unable to release an update.

This will be only until I manage to get this remake done, after that I plan on going back to the usual release every other month.

Thanks for your understanding, I am mostly struggling with the actions scenes in some story events, since aside from the shading in some events, I have to do it all by myself, it's been really difficult to learn quickly.

I am considering reducing even more the scope of it and maybe release a demo/preview for the remake, somewhat like I did when the game first launched, so you guys can at least see firsthand how good the game is now.

Let me know if you'd be interested in that, since I think that's a really good approach considering how long it could take me to finish the actual thing; also if you have any more questions, I'll try to respond the best I can!

Yep, that's the idea! Seems like a really good route since even if I leave incomplete art for the sake of getting the update sooner, it'll still take a while :p

Oh well then I would like that because I do want to get my hands on these new things just to get a feel for them. You could also get some feedback from it.

Well, when I say small demo, I REALLY mean it; mostly like 10-30 mins of gameplay to show that the update does exist since I am not sure when it will come out.

It depends how much a smaller demo release takes to make work. If it means that the other stuff is out a week later than they would otherwise be (e.g if something was probably going to be completed on the 2nd week of April it comes out the 3rd) if it is a month delay of having all the content that would be included in the larger release then no.
