Health Update
Added 2018-06-08 11:26:10 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Sorry for not updating you more but I've been in and out of hospital for the last two weeks, and when I've not been in hospital I've been staying with friends in Wolfsburg to try and "escape" for a bit.
I've undergone many tests and scans in the last few days and they didn't find any other tumors and so far there's no indication that the cancer has spread :)
I will be having a big operation next week to remove the tumor from my tongue. They have to take quite a large chunk from my tongue to make sure that they get all the cancer cells. To ensure that I can still use my tongue afterwards they will take some flesh from my forearm and use that to fill in the hole. I'll have to learn how to speak and swallow properly again, but it should eventually get back to normal after a month or so. I will also have the lymph nodes removed from one side of my neck as a precaution.
The best case scenario is that this will be the only treatment that I need, but there will of course be further tests after the operation to ensure that it didn't spread.
Sorry again for the lack of content and videos, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work on releasing Equilinox after I've recovered from the operation :)
Thank you all so much for continuing to support me through this rather difficult time! It really means a huge amount to me.
Karl

I hope you are fully covered for it, and that you'll feel better soon.

Tho I'm glad you posted an update you must know that you are not obligated to report to us regularly. This is quite personal stuff and you don't even have to share the details but thanks anyway :) Just don't disappear on us :) 1 month? Someone is time optimistic :P Come back when you have recovered, not earlier. Hell I sound like some mom :P Wish you best!
2018-06-08 19:29:59 +0000 UTCOh my goodness, take the time you need to rest and heal! That sounds serious and I hope they can get all the cancer out... You are in my thoughts and prayers!

2018-06-08 15:32:23 +0000 UTCGlad to hear the cancer hasn't spread but tongue cancer is still really nasty to recover from. You may find you lose a lot of your sense of taste afterwards but it usually comes back over time so you should be able to properly enjoy your fine culinary creations soon enough.
