Hi everyone! Thank you all for your incredible support last month :)

In this release loads of new species have been added to the game, but just note that a lot of them don't really do anything yet, and some of the animals have some rather strange temporary movement! I'll be working much more on AI and movement in the coming weeks.

There are also a couple of issues with the birds and their nest laying AI, and I actually had to temporarily remove the bees from this release because of some unresolved bugs. I'll be adding them back in soon, and if you want to test out the bees you can still download last month's release.

Let me know if you have any trouble running it.

I also just wanted to ask you what tutorials you'd like to see next, for those of you who follow the OpenGL series. Let me know of any suggestions you may have. I know already that collision detection is probably the most requested topic, but it's unfortunately a topic that I'm very inexperienced with. I hope to cover it at some point, but I need to spend some time learning more about it myself before I feel comfortable enough with it to make a tutorial. So until then, let me know what other topics you'd like to see :)

Thanks!

Karl

that would be amazing, I'm desperately trying to implement a component based system, but I cant figure out how to move the code for things like models, lights, and particles, into systems.

Thanks Karl! Yes, I do have a request for a new series of tutorials concerning the component based system vs the entity based system you used in your OpenGL Game Tutorials. You could either create a new simple component based game or modify the existing engine from your OpenGL Game tutorial. That would be incredible!
