Special Halloween Build - The Snackrooms V2

As promised, here's a brand new Snackrooms installment. It has a new path, a new ending, and a few new surprises along the way. I didn't have time to add everything I wanted, but it feels good to finally have a scenario that includes the full weight gain sequences.

I think the biggest potential is in creating role-playing stories like this! In particular, with an impact on body size depending on the choices made with multiple purposes. Exploring and choosing different ways to continue a game is the most interesting thing. I hope there will be multiple choices in a scenario game in the future. Thank you so much for your creations, they are incredible.

A thought, remember that gigantic lady we see in the room opposite to where eldritch Ronald Mcdonald is found? I bet our protagonist set a new goal when she saw that. Edit: I just noticed the feeding tube, You can see it if you stand just behind the doorway before entering the room. Very nice touch.

Even the long and round shapes have a huge belly it’s outweighed by the ass , I’d love a shape with minimal ass and tits (of course they grow too, but mainly belly! Is that something planned at all? Or are all sizes going to be kinda ass gain

Coding and game design is very difficult / challenging. We all appreciate all of the hardwork that is being put into this. Also, I just thought of this; having different body types from the get-go (Apple, Pear, Hourglass, Rectangle). I do understand, there is; long, wide, tall and circle for the larger stages, but it would be interesting to see the body shapes that I listed earlier as the starting foundation.

I'm not sure what I'll do with water yet, but floating/swimming would be neat. A big belly gain would also be amazing and I hope to make that happen eventually. Same with sitting, but it depends on how difficult it is to implement.

I will definitely add more clothes periodically. More realistic clothes would be very cool, but I'm not sure if I can pull that off. It would take a ton of effort and might just end up looking bad anyway but we'll see

I love what's been done so far, and I can't wait (I can, but still) for the next update. Some ideas that came to mind on my first runs that I hope might be something to expand on in the future: Being able to interact with the progression blockers - being able to feed one, for example, until Something (tm) happens. Possibly as a means to progress through a stage. Alternately, being able to converse or interact with one, taking advantage of their trapped state (but beware side-effects). Other thoughts were things like lips and lip shapes that become more pronounced, the larger the character becomes (if that's your thing - I prefer bottom lips only, in this instance). Some smaller thoughts were along the lines of new/different head shapes for the character, and added accessories - like cat ears, and/or tail, stockings in place of socks. Maybe even a pencil skirt/formal skirt, if the clothing models can be convinced to cooperate.

More clothing options would be cool! And also (if possible) make the clothes more realistic and less super skin tight / painted skin. It would cool to have clothing sizes and watch them shrink as the character gets bigger.

Gave the free version a try Halloween evening and just had to drop in to get the full features and was well worth it. This build blew me away and I'm very much looking forward to further iterations. The introduction of water has me curious if you plan on implementing other things relative to them, like deeper pools to wade through where you either sink or swim depending on how far you go and how heavy you are. Interactivity with the gases would be neat to see too (bubbles forming on the surface depending on how deep you are). I'm also curious if you have any plans to add options for gains that go almost exclusively to the belly. I'm not entirely sure how well movement would work with such an option when it gets big enough, but if it were feasible it would also be really nice. Maybe the walk becomes more of a push at bigger stages? Another small thing I wonder about is if there will be options to sit in chairs or even the floor eventually. Most of that sounds fairly difficult to implement at least looking in from the outside, and I'm not entirely sure there's even any interest in those ideas, but figured it wouldn't hurt to at least ask. This is very solid so far though, and regardless of what comes next, you keep up the great work!

I've looked into doing that, but it's not really feasible. Dynamic objects, terrain and NPCs stop working correctly or refuse to scale at all so it creates way more problems than it solves.

I wonder if you could do some kind of scaling trick. Sort of like the trick of changing the scale of a level rather than the scale of the player or something

I really enjoyed the update! Adding in NPCs you can interact with was pretty fun and seeing more areas of the Snackrooms was also pretty neat. The physics stuff was also fun too. I'm really looking forward to whatever comes out next!

Any chance we could get something like this but maybe holiday theme? I hope you turn this into a whole other game, because the snackroom idea has lot of potential, i can imagine all the backroom parody levels, like you already got the infamous pool here. But there is also the pipe room and so on. maybe a monster that if it catches you it force feeds you or something could be added?, Just in general there's lot you could do with this concept. I can easily see this being its own 2 hour game or something, maybe add a little puzzle solving or something in between too buff up the time it takes to complete, Oh this is just right up my alley.

I like that there is more snackrooms area's, but I feel like the additions to having reserchers and being able to see others who aren't just blobs kind of breaks it, that being said I love that the map keeps you away from getting out and leaves you as nothing more than a helpless blob

I've occasionally seen it freeze up on level loads and I'm looking into the problem. And yeah, I was thinking about something like that as an alternate ending, but I didn't have enough time to flesh it out. Hopefully in a future update

Head bands with cat, cow, and pig ears would be nice. But for other hat options maybe a beanie, a normal headband(gym style one), crown (maybe a burger king card board one lol), and maybe something like a wide brim sun hat.

While I think the other suggestion that I do have could be saved for later because of the lengthy (?) implementation process, I think it might be interesting to make the maps more interactive for the character. That is, "doing something" as a character in the location. Whatever can be used to make it more "simulative", be it sitting down on the chair, opening doors, so on. Have also been wondering whether the weight loss system for the stages beneath the blob one could be implemented, to have more fun yo-yoing around with that. Perhaps, you could actually interact with equipment to 'exercise with" along with more stats like the hunger bar, fatigue, etc. Overall, you did an amazing job, good luck!

My game seemed to freeze up upon getting to the loading screen for the final area but that may be due to me playing on a steam deck, aside from that, loved the update! have you ever considered a ending where the player also ends up as one of the "progression blockers" (i.e one of the people stuck in the slides or stuck in between the walls), i think that would be a fun ending for a (Maybe next years?) snackrooms release

I'm still figuring that out. I'm not sure if other NPCs will be feedable. Depends how difficult that is to implement. For now it's just a sandbox kinda experience but that might change as I flesh things out

The free cam is disabled in the Snackrooms scenario because it caused too many issues. It should work in other maps though

i must just be dumb but i can't find the new content or new ending. every play through ends with one of the two normal endings. any help?

The game is awesome, really fun creative ideas put in! I didn’t know how much to expect but you definitely outdid my expectations! The one thing I couldn’t figure out, the camera settings, the F for free camera follow seems not to work, is that just a bug that I can fix? Or something that just fell through the cracks in this version? Or does it just not work in the Snackrooms? I admit I forgot to test it in the normal game.

I have to wonder when other npcs come out, and will you be able to feed them like you can your character. Also what is the end game of this be, will this be like the sims except with more player control and the player can become fat or will we only be playing on levels and not a single map?

I've seen the void bug happen every once in a while when loading different scenes, but I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably. I thought I fixed it so many times but it keeps popping up randomly. I hope to figure it out soon.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback! I made the obese to nearly blob sections shorter because the character moves so slow that it felt way too tedious to walk very far. I would try increasing the simulation speed even more like you suggested, but things start breaking when the physics updates any quicker than the current max. Maybe there's some other solution or work around I can add in a future update. I also like the other ideas of expanding maps and interconnecting them.

I found the decision for completely separate branching paths interesting. I honestly had assumed this would pick up after Jill breaks the plank- landing in the poolrooms rather than the burger pit. That being said I think doing it that way was a good call. It preserves the existing endings and keeps any one path from getting to long, AND leaves the door open for more alternate paths to potentially happen down the line. Now im far down enough in my replies to comfortably talk about the ending. It really is ironic how Jill escapes the Snackrooms grasp... but also not. She's not literally in there anymore, but the hazmat guys are effectively taking the snackrooms role. It raises questions on just how powerful the snackrooms influence is. If I may make a suggestion of where to go from here. I think it'd be neat to see the non-snackroom areas expanded upon. In that regard, I have a few ideas. - there's water physics now, maybe a way to access that island visible from the shore. Maybe a bridge, and you could find yourself marooned on the island if you eat too much there and get too heavy for it. Or a boat commanded by an NPC, which I guess would functionally be a warp (I also think the beach is an excellent candidate for adding NPCs) - maybe some of the areas could have connections? with the beach as a sort of hub? One tunnel could go to the office, the other to Jill's house. The building at the beach could lead to the buffet, etc. - those cakes from the 'stay and eat forever' section would be nice to have. I would definitely prefer them to relying on the tube to get big for non snackrooms areas. That rambling aside. All in all. You really have outdone yourself with this snackrooms update!

- My only real complaint- and this isn't really a serious one, more of a nitpick- is that I feel we missed out on being able to explore while progressing through the sizes between "fairly fat" and "nearly a blob". Those were some oddly sturdy planks over that gap, hehe. Maybe something to think about for next year. - The small details, like footstep sounds. really REALLY help with immersion. Nice work with the new sound effects. - I found the new dialogue for- well, the snackrooms itself? interesting. It feels like Jill has a bit more control over her situation (but also not). Now for the stuff that I feel could use fixing eventually (none of these are gamebreaking or urgent) - There is some lag when looking at certain pools in the poolrooms. Not enough to impact gameplay, but its noticeable - If possible, a 2x speed modifier or higher. Simply because repeat playthroughs of the nearly immobile section looking for any secrets got quite tedious. - I encountered a bug where, after achieving blob in the snackrooms. I warped to the beach and wound up to some void under the beach. Jill was reduced to disembodied limbs and a head. Warping elsewhere promptly fixed the problem.

alrighty! This was really excellent, and 100% worth the wait. I thought that NPCs in the snackrooms would detract from the horror, but this just replaces with a different flavor of horror. The snackrooms feel much more active, malicious, and actively malicious now. The ending was... I feel the only way to describe it spoiler free is "deliciously ironic" I absolutely loved the vibes of the new areas added. Tbh my first run I followed the original snackrooms path wondering when id find the next note lmao. I'm surprised how many of everyone's suggestions you were able to pack in here. to anyone reading who hasnt yet played the game; my reply to this comment will include spoilers so please do not read further.

Glad you enjoy it! I will revisit the tube mechanics at some point and I'll consider that as an option. As for bigger blobs, I've hit a limit with how big they can get using my current methods. It might be possible, but I will have to figure out some new tech to handle larger sizes. I have some ideas, but I haven't gone down that rabbit hole just yet. I hope to figure it out eventually.

I got to say this update to the Snackrooms is great, with it being a excellent showcase of the new weight gain system and along with that the new path added more thing I was not expecting like NPCs with dialogue note, giving more information about the setting and that ending which all made it even better. If you plan to add more narrative focused scenarios like this later on in the future I think they should be a lot like this path at least with the storytelling and gameplay (mostly the weight gain) . The only thing I'd ask for as a suggestion would overhaul to the tube feeding system where you make it a lot more like how food works. Like you can grab the nozzle for the tube and it will act like any food you pick up feed to your character now but when it does not get consumed rather it stays in the character's mouth and acts like the tube feeding system we have now. Then if you want to stop the tube feeding all you need to do is to pull it out of the character's mouth. Also lastly that I'd like to ask a question about if there will be bigger blob sizes in the future? Especially since you changed how the weight gain system works which (to my current understanding) allows parts of the characters weight gain to be separated out into segments which transition to another size until you reach blob size. I'm curious if that system could be used later on to allow for bigger blob sizes, like there stages between the current and maybe a MEGA blob. I do understand if it might be too much work and/or there are technical issues with Unity. I just curious if a such an addition would be considered in the future.

I agree and I have been trying to make fat face/limbs work with the smaller body sizes, but I keep running into dumb, unexpected issues. I ran out of time to add it for this update, but I will figure it out soon hopefully.

Finished the newest Itteration of the Snack rooms. I love the new path and the easter eggs in this update. The small story here reminded me of when I used to read on DA, "You are thrown into a strange room/maze and WG happens while people are watching you." It gave me those vibes and I loved it. The WG stages are also done very well and I love seeing other NPCs like the hazmat guys and the other fatties. This is so worth the wait! Also I didn't realize that there were 2 endings during the intial Snackrooms and now we got three. So overall, great update. Its small, but its fantastic.
