Monday Monkey Talk Show! Villains: Part One

With what I watched thus far, the pencil snapping was probably the most visceral reaction for me. Villains are definitely interesting.

My favorite villains are 1. "My evil wouldn't exist if the evil of man didn't exist" like magneto or dracula from castlevania series. They wouldn't be the villain if horrible things weren't done to them. Japanese mythology has spirits/demonstrated that are born into the world because evil exist from people. 2. "The hard choice" these are villains that only do villain things because of other forces bearing down on them and usually make the heroes live with that same weight on choice. An example would be Lucian from fable 3. This horrible entity would kill everyone so he was making these horrible decisions because of it. Everyone says "oh if I had to deal with that I would do this" but never live with the outside factors or the weight of the choice. 3. "The intangible villain" a villain that is a concept. Example Sophie's Choice, yes nazis are the main villain but one can argue the other villain is Sophie's own conscious. It weighed on her every day and wouldn't allow any goodness in her life again. A great villain to me is complex and nuanced. They leave you thinking and touch you.
