Development Update - 8th January 2021

Hey! I've had to deal with a stomachache in the past week and I wasn't feeling, and still don't to some degree, feeling in the right mood to give it my best. However, it doesn't really seem to be getting any better so instead of delaying development indefinitely, I've been sneaking in some work here and there when there were less.. painful times.

So, here is what I could do lately:

Art:

• For the Exotic Beast Hunting Quest, I've been doing some sculpting in blender and trying to get some good results for the alien beasts to use as references. There are a lot of models and references floating around, but I felt that it would be nicer if we had our own models to make the style of the game more distinct from other sources. You can check my progress on them right below. One of them is some kind of Alien Gorilla who will serve as a recurring character with an interesting background. The other one is some kind of Horse-Donkey Alien that has a certain mystery to it and you'll see it when the new version is ready. The last one, but not sculpted yet, is my own rendition of a Minotaur-like alien beast. 

Writing:

• In regards to writing, we're making some good progress on that side. The Exotic Beast Hunting Quest is 60-65% fully written, sitting at 13.2k words. It will likely be the biggest quest in the game so far and it will introduce the aliens I'm sculpting above. It was also designed and written to be played multiple times and it will be similar to the Bandit Camp quest in the sense that it will offer a lot of choices along the way which leads to the potential of needing multiple playthroughs to access all the content. I'm also writing it to be fun to play, so I hope that will be noticed.

UI:

• As part of the recent Patron vote on the new Smartwatch UI (and FalloutBabe's opinion regarding that), I think I have a pretty good idea of what the final result should be like. As soon as I'm done writing this quest, I'll get to work on that since I think it can make the game much better & polished.

And on this finishing note, I'm hoping to get better soon so that I can do the best job I can with what I've planned for this version, as it will be the final foundation on which the rest of the game is going to be built upon. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
