Zofie's Bakery

Feels like I spent so long on this I dunno what to even do..I'll figure it out after I sleep. It's been a little bit since I've done a big, big, background piece, but I had my reasons here.
Zofie was overdue for a good pinup anyway, and this showcases Kan Rein from a different view. It also establishes Zofie's bakery, which will be a pretty common location at the start of the (eventual) story. She runs it by herself, though some help from Nytro, where he can, as well as ...someone else. But it's mostly her own. So I suppose you could say this is an adult picture, since she's doing adult things like running her own business.
"Braid and Bread" is her own name for the store. She helped her uncle Frittar run this shop across the river from the city center in the Ancient District, where he did baked goods using 'old' (by their standards) methods; kneading, decorating, mixing, etc, by hand as opposed to the much more mundane machined methods used to make most food for the masses in the galaxy today. There's nothing wrong with the usual, but it doesn't have that 'touch, both in heart and hand', as he would say, that could really make someone's taste buds sing. Some time before the start of the story, Frittar passed suddenly. She kept the shop going, though she hadn't fully absorbed his skills or knowledge yet, and so she still has a lot to learn/discover, and it's very much a small-time bake shop; it experiences low-to-average traffic in this district of Kan Rein City.
I composed this picture from the beginning in a way so that it could be enjoyed in 3 arrangements; square, horizontal, and vertical. Square is useful for phone backgrounds where swiping left and right moves the image, and the horizontal for wallpapers on desktop or such. Horiz/Vert will also be in 11x17 prints on my store soon, and maybe even some large-format ones for a limited offer. We'll see! For now I hope y'all enjoy this Lo-Fi inspired themed morning cake decorating picture.

It definitely fills out the world, and I love how it makes the interior look so much more spacious and real. The ground-level look out into the city through the windows also really helps, I think, open the perspective up. Excellent work, I like it! :)

It has a nice "homey" feel, like you might expect to find in an old fashion store in a country side. It's feels very warm, and welcoming, and calm. I also love the little price tags. They make a curious but interesting contrast between low and high tech, a tiny reminder that this is in the future, without being overbearing about it. The same with her neat little tools/utensils. This is something I would honestly hang on the wall in a lounge room, where everyone could see it. You have done a magnificent job, Fluff. Well done.
