Kaltag Light Armour - Rev. II
Added 2019-09-11 17:46:21 +0000 UTCSo some of you may remember the previous light armour (not bodysuit) from the images embedded below. Back when I did those, I considered it a first pass, and kind of uninspired. A while later and here we are, now that I have a much better grasp on the kind of visual style I want for my sci-fi setting, I felt inspired to rework a few outfits, similar to Zofie's from a little bit ago, and ZTA/ARA/SRKs as well.
This is obviously a very detailed version of it, and in a comic-like context, it would be simplified, but retain its base shapes and design. HD will be in the 5$ ZIP file this month.
Thank Vikna for being a good model! Also her hair up is really enjoyable.

2019-09-17 11:59:33 +0000 UTCStill skin tight, but that may be an illusion because it shapes itself to the body so good, or part of the design, making it something you can have on under heavy armor, or in a mech or something. Possible under the power armor itself. Or force field mumbo jumbo hard light addons when it is "on". Yeah i have thought way too much about armor. :)

2019-09-12 03:40:41 +0000 UTCBeing that a tail is highly maneuverable and generally relatively thin, I get the feeling a tail wouldn't normally need a lot of added protection. I imagine that general tail awareness, both in an enclosed environment and in close quarters combat, would be standard training. "ROOKIE! Where's your tail at? Know your surroundings. Know your TAIL! Or you're going to lose it!"

2019-09-11 22:56:55 +0000 UTCGod, I love synthetic muscle fiber-based armor. It looks amazing. But yeah as mentioned above, tail armor could be cool. And speaking of heavy armor as well, space ship boarding is actually one of the few places where heavy armor and melee combat would actually make sense over conventional modern warfare methods. Since any weapon powerful enough to go through power armor, would also be strong enough to mess up the internals of the ship, unless you want to blow up your own ship from the inside with a stray shot, melee weapons are a must. LotGH is a series that does something similar.

One of my favorite Ask ARA posts from you was one where you showed all the different armors. Also you get instant points for having that spinal bit, dunno why but I love it when scifi armor has bits like that, and even more points for having a pseudo-leotard bit there~
