Clickbait Discussion Result

Based on your input it sounds like the majority of the community wants me to turn down to amount and level of clickbait and since your input actually matters I will abide by this request. Tom

Thank you, clickbait is so annoying

Thibault

The thing is clickbait titles tend to lump your videos in with the “crypto hopium” crowd of creators. Those people get more views because they take advantage of desperate people who don’t want to face reality. I started watching your videos because you laid out the truth with no bullshit. You have a dedicated audience that trusts your advice, and, personally, I wouldn’t compromise that with trying to win the “hopium” crowd over. Keep up the good work, though. The videos are awesome. Just like with investing though, you have to stick with a sensible approach that you know will gain over time. Trying to adapt to the day to day market is how you get wrecked. You’ll go through ups and downs in terms of views, but your overall success will go up as long as you provide quality and trustworthy content!

Tom, do what you’ve been doing and title the videos however you want. It’s the content IN the video I care about and value, not the title. What I enjoy the most is when you post videos for Patreon only before releasing to the general public, when the video pertains to a stock you’d purchase, which you believe has significant upside.

Huge mistake! Real talk. We know you and know you’re doing it for the clicks but we also know we’re not going to be dragged through a terribly long video which gives us no info. You do you we know your click baiting us but we’re not here because we’re falling for it but rather because we love what you do and your no bs take

Steve Neumann

What clickbait? Let’s be real bro’, that ain’t clickbait… check out some “stonks” channels out there, it’s full on cringe af. You are spot on with whatever some may consider clickbait

I thought I was answering to general clickbaity YouTubers. lol. You definitely don't click bait, if you did, it would be your first few sentences to clarify with a joke. As a member, please continue exactly what you have been doing and I will gladly continue as your loyal patreon supporter. Keep it up Tom!

Honestly I find that the titles and thumbnails are fine. I almost always enjoy your stock breakdown videos, and they usually have the 50% upside thing, and I actually think it’s good for gaining attention and accurate.

To me personally the clickbait titles/mockups aren’t up to the standard of quality content which is delivered. I understand the marketing part but I flinch every time I see it.

Steve

I Agree with RCdiy. Every time I see something with "This needs to stop now" I think, here we go again... I want to know what a video is about.

Deniz Kaya

I’ve started ignoring videos with titles that give me no idea what is in the video. “This needs to stop now”, “I m devastated, this is betrayal “, “This needs to STOP”, “.This is a bad idea”, “I’m done “,

Rav

I agree with someone who wrote that you don't clickbait actually. As you did yesterday for your PayPal video, in my opinion it's not a clickbait to write something like "check out this stock with 50% growing potential". Browsing my YT home right now, here's an example of what I personally consider clickbait: For Palantir: "Trillion Dollar Secret. Palantir: How did YOU miss THIS?"

Paolo G

It's not clickbait unless it mentions "local cougars in your area" or "men are improving their sex life with this topical cream"

Brent Oilwell

Thank you Tom. To me the clickbait levels the content from below, it’s not needed. I wonder if that will impact the channel growth, keep us in the loop

They are good amusement. Do it once in a while for good fun and laughter.

God no.... that’s cringe

Your clickbait does not bother me because I know you are credible. If I was new to your channel it would make me more hesitant since clickbait is rarely reflective of quality content. So I don’t think it should be up to your loyal Patreon supporters. I think you need to do whatever drives best interest in your channel,.

Deciphering clickbait-y headlines and thumbnails can be a minor annoyance, but given human nature, they obviously are effective. I understand the dilemma - do whatever works best for you.

Mike Ramsey

I have harsh remarks on clickbait being annoying AF in general but still acknowledge they are effective at bringing in new users. We are all stupid monkey brains that cant resist. The few clickbait you do with the home alone face is pretty mockery and i find funny, as long as you are up front in video content (as always) and dont do it for EVERY thumbnail. Balance is good if its effective, which im sure it is given the popularity. Patreons arnt going to unsub and we are going to click the videos regardless until the content gets shitty, then you are in trouble. If the thumbs are bringing in viewers and potential new subs id say dont abuse it but use it.

Chris27208

You’re good man , in my opinion you don’t really clickbait. When I do see numbers on the thumbnails I appreciate that you actually have data to back it up. You give the relevant info quick and if you want to stay for more in depth one can if they want. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Alex cantu

I’m for whatever you choose to do. BTW, I gave a shout out to you on another person I also watch.

Lorencio Banquel

Really bro… Just run you’re shit, the way you want to! If people don’t like it… they can GTFO.
