Adobe is massively underrated

great company for years now. But most of the creative tools can be done for free now a days.

2021-06-18 04:08:00 +0000 UTCI am an Adobe power user and lived through the transition to subscription based revenue versus the annual lump sum that had to be coughed up. It completely unlocked the consumer market that was a pent up need for years and put a lot of the "license generation" pirating efforts out of business. I work at a software company now as part of a global conglomerate and we are going through the same transition... always an initial dip (like the one experienced at AutoDesk) followed by a significant growth in software revenue as subscriptions eliminate the pain of software entry and also greatly reduces (or removes outright) buyer's remorse. Now AutoDesk recently has had a client revolt in the market with an open letter from 80+ clients that they are not meeting the needs of the client... this because they are not investing in the R&D needed to keep up with new start ups and other innovative competitors.... so lesson, the subscription model is now the correct model to be successful AND you still have to follow through with a great product. And Adobe has a magnificent product suite.
