Brain Storm #2 Backstory - BN2 Character Design.

Alright the results are in and so far we are working with a Adult Male Graveyard Keeper. There's already so many possibilities so I'm excited to see where you guys take this!

Time to flush out this character a bit by Brain Storming their Backstory. Maybe he has a tragic past or maybe a happy one because buisness is booming. Post as many ideas as you want.

I think we will have a poll for this category to pick the biggest pieces of the backstory. The nice thing is that even if you don't win I'll probably secretly pull some of the ideas that fit for the character and add them in to further expand them later.

Comments

Lol, that's a really fun detail. It'll probably work really well with everything else.

So he's happy bc his grandfather keeps getting remarried and the women his grandfather gets married to keep dying bc of the grandfather always accidentally undercooking bacon giving them food poisoning

No worries at all, send as many ideas as you'd like!

Hope you don’t mind if I type out a few again!! - there’s a saying that only two things in life are certain: death and taxes. With this gravekeeper, both are definitely part of his life. So it’s a damn good thing his job relies on people dying (which, they do. All the time actually). It’s not exactly what he envisioned himself doing, but it keeps him housed and fed, so he’s fine with it. That and his obscure college degree didn’t exactly take him anywhere else - his family actually owned the cemetery he works at and naturally it was handed down to him. He actually really hates it because he’s never liked spooky things like death and beyond, but he doesn’t have much of a choice when it feels like he’s letting the family down by turning down taking on the family business. Money is money, after all. - he actually really enjoys his work surprisingly. He was always unfortunately experiencing some sort of death in his life whether it was a pet, a family member, or friend, but it actually brings a sense of peace. He mourned like the average person, but found that it felt nice to take care of the graves of loved ones so people would know someone still cared about them. But when he noticed the neglected stones of others he figured he should take up looking after them too. He sort of prides himself on his work in keeping it all looking nice and secretly hopes that the deceased know that at least someone still cares about them in life
