Happy Holidays! & Misc News

Hey everyone! I just wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays (and a late Merry Christmas!) and apologize for being so quiet, along with some minor news. I'm still working my way through Plumfruit and don't have much to report because of it, though I'm only just now remembering I could have been documenting the process on here for Patrons. Oh well, next mod update maybe, or I'll try to write one up later in the week if I have time and summarize what I've done so far.

My original personal goal was to get the Plumfruit update out before Christmas, but I've been sick the last two months and wound up missing it. Sick on and off in November, sick toddler at the same time, and then sick again all through December so far and now a sick toddler again this week. And 2 days before Christmas we had a winter storm that also took out our internet and only came back on Christmas day. Hopefully January and the New Year is much better for everyone, as I know others have been continually sick and/or stressed too. 

Anyhow, I wanted to cover some other news while here, will try to keep it brief:

📌 Curseforge

I posted on Twitter and Discord about this a few days after the EA x Curseforge announcement date, but didn't get a chance to announce here yet due to everything. I was chosen as an Official Mod Squad Member for the Sims 4 and you can find the following mods on my page so far:

• Custom VFX Resource (new and only available on CF to avoid confusion)
• Functional Broom
• Functional Spiral Staircase (from thepancake1 and I's page)
• Hike & Carry Toddlers
• Interactions Unlocked For Kylo & Others
• No Bits/Pieces for Candles
• Remove Hats & More Indoors
• SimCity Loans 2.0
• Skip CAS Stories

And more will come when I have time or some much needed CF updates are released. Unfortunately, the bulk of my adopted mod images came as PNGs with no PSDs, so I have to make new thumbnails from scratch, which I don't have the time for atm as I focus on Plumfruit and the other adoptions. Or the mod has multiple optional files, which CF does not properly support updating or choosing right now and until that's added I'd rather not upload those ones to avoid confusion. There's also a few that might not fit their terms, so I will have to confirm with them before I get to uploading those ones.

Also, since Pancake has no interest in making an account for CF, our mods will be uploaded to my page instead of a joint account, and some of the same issues described above apply to these as well. Only Spiral Staircase, that thankfully already had a thumbnail from our sneak peaks, is currently uploaded.

Note that I (and Pancake) will still be uploading and posting to Patreon as usual! And mods that are already on ModTheSims will stay there as well, along with any that are on SimFileShare (for now at least, been debating SFS for a while). But having a CurseForge option will help those who prefer to use managers to handle their mods. Also, I know that CF and it's app are a little rough right now, but remember that both are a WIP and improvements will be coming over time.

📌After Plumfruit

After Plumfruit, if I finish it hopefully within the next few weeks, I will be updating some of the minor mods from Arnie next, while also preparing for the new large infant life stage update coming sometime early next year! Rumor mill has people thinking January, so I will be treating the update as if it will arrive then and break everything. 

If EA avoids touching any of the crib related files like I expect though, I will be releasing the custom crib injector and tutorial, and hopefully onesie injector, sometime after the update goes live. I also have a few other baby, etc. mods I'd like to investigate and/or release around then, but we'll have to see what happens with the timeframe, if we get any more pack hints, etc. so I will not promise anything else. I also have other things to discuss about current and future projects but will hold off on that as well currently as this post is already longer than I wanted.

📌Darkmode

I have decided to pass on adopting Arnie's Darkmode due to several reasons, the main reason being that a new one popped up and remains updated, which you can find here. After talking with the creator, then Arnie and I discussing the situation, I weighed my options and decided it was best to not continue a second version, as it wouldn't make sense in this situation. If the creator ever happens to disappear though I will likely continue it.

All of Arnie's other mods are still in my adoption list though.
