Heres some additional isight from someone who's been to a ton of these style of races and have friends who brought race cars: You mentioned not getting paddock entry, that was included with all sales. Its where all the cars were parked behind the track. The reason they specified that its included is because many race events have closed paddocks for safety reasons (most races revolving around classic race cars will have open paddocks but if you were to go to say a GT race, the paddocks will likely be closed or only open for certain people). The only other thing that could be referring to is perhaps access to the pre-staging aka velocity lane which was closed to the public and only open to drivers and mechanics, and I guess me when my mechanic buddy smuggled me in on their golf cart to take photos for them) As for drivers taking turn 11 wrong, classic race cars dont handle even remotely close to how f1 cars do, the racing line is very different and they dont have the same level as grip meaning they will purposely slide through hairpin turns like that. Those guys in the trans am cars are on that track multiple times a year and have gathered a reputation at historics events for being some of the hardest drivers in historics racing. Most other classes have drivers to tend to drive more conservatively due to the rarity and value of the cars along with there not being anything more than bragging rights on the line, but the trans am racers always seem to push aside those factors and drive their cars harder than the others. Also funny thing about forgetting names, I signed up to do the rally car experience on the track and at some point I got it in my head that my driver's name was Owen, and so i was asking him all these dumb questions about his background since I never heard of an FIA driver named Owen and it wasnt until I got out of the car afterwards that it registered I had the wrong name and I had just spend 20 minutes on the track with Max freaking McRae aka the nephew of Collin McRae and also one hell of a driver in his own right lol. Also, there was some drama with the track experiences, A family member bought me the dirt rally experience and a few days before the event I noticed that they dropped the price of the track experience by nearly 50% and they mentioned at the event that they didnt sell all the slots (like 9-12 slots a day) so some of the employees of the event took them. My biggest rants were that they didnt seem very well prepared for the number of people to show up, i heard from a few people that saturday was sbsurd, and I felt that becasue they had sold out of ALL programs by 2pm on saturday, barely halfway through the whole event, ive never heard of that happening as with many historics events you can find the previous year's program for sale at the vent on sale. They also sold out of water and basically all non alcoholic drinks around 1pm on saturday. All i was able to get was a cup of lemonade. I had to get waters from a friend. (they also didnt check bags so I could have just brought my own water) Sorry, that was a lot of info, loved the vid though!
