Edit: Good news!!! We were able to fix the test world to where you can travel again. Our terrain changes and added test objects, and some other things, still bit the dust but otherwise we're back on schedule. Pancake has now started on the lot placement tools and is almost done with them. I still have no ETA on the world but I'd say later this year for release since we still have to convert some objects and make other cool features to go with the world.
Just wanted to post a quick update on the stuff I did a while back or recently since I was sick for so long and unable to post much. Which btw turned out to be covid, but I'm feeling better now. I was working on a monthly summary that contained some of this but stopped because of what happened last night with one of the mods and thought it best to just do a Patron only post for now. D; I'll keep this brief though.
Anyhow, so the first thing I wanted to post and celebrate (and cry about...) with you guys is that Pancake and I finally cracked the last few UI files needed for a custom world to show up on the world selection menu! Unfortunately while we were trying to update our Git repo (which stores all our data and allows us to share files easily) something broke in one of our files which had a cascade effect and....broke our world....It reverted to several months ago and we lost some of our work (not the UI files though), no backups can be found. Note that this is thankfully our test world, it's not the world we are still outlining and planning, but this reversion broke the traveling and we get kicked back to the world selection menu. We haven't solved it yet, we are partially there as now we can enter it via build mode, but we just can't pinpoint the main issue yet. As you can imagine this was a hard blow to us, but we're trying to stay positive since we did solve the menu issue after several months when before it seemed impossible (it's actually easier than we thought, lol).
The second is that the cow should be released soon, hopefully this week! We moved some of our planned features to a future update since the cow already has a decent amount to it (and the entire inner workings) and we want to get it released after several months of continuous work. You can see two of our seven textures and the cows sleeping up above!
Third is that I figured out how to make custom mannequins! It's easy to do actually, though if you want a completely new mesh, like an exported sim like I did, you will need a tiny bit of creating experience in order to get it working like transferring weights, adjusting cuts, and editing a bit of the mesh. I will write a tutorial outlining the process, probably not covering the meshing though as I have no idea how to explain that at the moment, but I'll try to. My goal is to get it done after Styled Looks (which I did start, but didn't get a chance to finish), since one section has a similar process.
Fourth is Sword Fighting is about halfway done now? Maybe almost half, I still have a lot of adjusting to do on the animation clips and then some side features to work on, but there's a pic above of it in action! And yes I use Kylo Ren as a testing dummy, lol.
And that's mostly it ATM. I've been working so hard on this cow so it will be nice to release it and have a few weeks of rest and to finally focus on some other projects. I hope to get several things released then, including some existing mod updates.
