August Summary 2020
Added 2020-08-25 17:01:03 +0000 UTCI am reaaaally running behind on stuff, but I promise things will be getting back on track. I just finished the How to Make CC Clothing Knittable tutorial a few days ago, gotten feedback on it, and now I just need to publish on here and fix my private tumblr post as the images are squished on there. Do not like tumblr for tutorial uploading and don't think I will do it again unless absolutely necessary. Oh, and I need to make an object tutorial, which is basically just cutting up the current tutorial as it's a very similar process
Current Progress & Focus
Human Ghost and #JusticeForCowplants are going up this week. I apologize deeply for the wait, but it's been a rollercoaster the last month in terms of discoveries, modding, helping, life, the usual. I need to get better at taking several hours for just me and modding, turning off Discord so I can focus. Right now I probably spend more time on Discord popping in to help, read a chat, etc. and it's eating up a lot of time, which I don't have much of because of the baby (who is now a toddler and being crazy, oof). So first up:
Functional Sewing Machine & Skill
Yesss I said I wouldn't start this until I had more practice with custom animations but with knitting, and a few other incidents, I've gotten the boot I needed to start this. Version 1, and I'm praying there's no massive setbacks, should be up in about 2 weeks, give or take. I hired my good friend Pancake to put together the animations and so far it is going super well, and of course I had to bring back the classic treadle sewing machine from TS2! There's been so many deco versions of this object, and now finally a functional version is coming! Here is a preview of what we have so far, though the pattern is being wonky, and there's a few other issues to take care of as this is still the beginning of the animations. And while he is doing the animations I'm going to finish up these mods that I fell behind on and work on the tuning for the sewing.

In the future I plan to do a modern machine and hand sewing, but this won't be a for a while (at least that I can imagine). In the first version I'm doing EA recipes, meaning I'm turning EA clothing and objects into lockable and sewable items. I'm going to try and get a bit of everything from all the packs, stuff that looks thrown together or very obvious lines/could pass for sewn. If I can I will squeeze in a few converted objects, probably not clothes, but for now I'm mostly interested in just getting the base of the mod up and running as that's already a lot of work.
No Venue Requirements - (Finished)
Another mod I finished in a few minutes for a friend on the history server. It's an update for Plasticbox's mod. I learned some useful stuff as usual so I'm glad I made it, good practice. Going to get this published basically whenever I can remember too on MTS, which is hopefully the same time I do the cowplant one.
More EA Knittables
Exactly as it sounds like, I'm going through the EA files and making obvious knitted stuff into knittable recipes/objects. I'm probably going to do a few packs at a time? Maybe, it really just depends on how many files I come across. I already have several noted from Seasons and Holiday Celebration, but I'm not sure if there are others. I'll be doing this as I shop for sewable items, two birds with one stone as they say.
Everything else in one summary:
Don't worry, still working on any other projects previously mentioned, I have a clear path in mind after V1 of sewing is released. But I can't work on any Medieval objects still until the tool is done, and I also can't do just the sim animations either anymore because another discovery changed our conversion process that makes it so much easier, but means a tool update. I love these new discoveries but now I'm behind xD So for now just consider any medieval and S3 animations on pause until further notice (though I may still get archery up and running regardless since it's already started). Hopefully not much longer now for these updates. In the mean time just going to continue with sewing, previously mentioned misc mods, and hopefully get to work on Arranged Marriages finally. I've been dying to work on it but no time. I also have a surprise commission in the works together with Pancake, but it's still in the very early stages and discussion. More info will come when we get closer to making it a reality.
Tutorials
Custom Styled Looks: Unfortunately no tray cheat fix from S4S after I posted the announcement, so I can't write a tutorial. But I have not forgotten about this and will do it as soon as S4S, or Pancake, gets me a working extractor. I can't believe the most important thing we need is broken and wasn't fixed in the latest update. Just our luck, lol.
How to Make CC Clothing Knittable: As I said above this is done and ready to be published, I will also be working on getting this up this week. Object version to soon follow.
How to Make Custom Knitted Baby Onesies: I don't think I had time to post about this when I discovered it, but custom baby onesies are possible! I will of course, for sure, include a few in my sewing skill. Right now it needs a custom injection script for several files + Andrew's Crafting Enabler to avoid conflicts, so this one will take a bit to get going as I have to write the tutorial and make my own scripts for the first time (though I know the general process) so this will be....interesting. I'm hoping to work on the scripts a bit while making the sewing skill so I can post the tutorial soon after, but we'll see. Here is a black onesie I made during my experiments.
