Chapter 534: The Five Peak Saints of the New Continent

Charlot's first experience on the battlefield was returning to the Behemoth Principality to fight against the South Seraph restorationists. Most of his subsequent battles also revolved around South Seraph. It was unexpected and poignant that the final confrontation would also take place there.

Facing a vast New Continent fleet of thousands of ships, Charlot used the Radiant Holy Kingdom and Emilia Mecklenburg as the core of his strategy. He connected all his ships into a massive floating labyrinth. Rolling mists spread, engulfing his entire fleet in a foggy maze.

Charlot was not a war hawk. He understood that overly large armies could be detrimental to war efforts. Most of his ships had already been converted to merchant vessels, dedicated to trade and transport. His current fleet of just over a thousand warships consisted primarily of ghost ships, chosen for their minimal supply requirements.

On the city walls of Arcadia Port, seven members of the New Continent Council, all high-ranking representatives, gazed at Charlot's fleet cloaked in mist with subtle expressions.

Avish's hatred for Charlot was immeasurable. Once one of the three original council leaders, Avish had hoped that by capturing Black Phoenix City and occupying the Mecklenburg Duchy, he could secure his dominance. Even if more New Continent forces arrived, they would have to bow to the three leaders.

But the catastrophic battle at Black Phoenix City destroyed his forces, killed Monteblanc, and saw Mocher surrender. Isolated and powerless, Avish fell to irrelevance as the New Continent's settlers expanded their influence. Now, among the seven council members, Romeos had become the leading figure. A burly man, Romeos was one of the five Peak Saints of the New Continent, far surpassing Avish in reputation and strength.

Romeos spoke indifferently, "So, even the Old Continent has people who can wield the power of the Evil Gods."

"However, I received some news before departing. Agmirlas has already fallen under the combined assault of three Evil Gods. How can anyone still use its power?"

Avish was taken aback. "Agmirlas has fallen? Who said this?"

A cold voice replied, "I did."

Recognizing the voice, Avish's expression stiffened. It was none other than Idehyra, the Dream Witch, a twenty-fourth-rank Dreamwalker and another of the five Peak Saints of the New Continent. Awkwardly, Avish said, "If it's Idehyra, then it must be true."

Idehyra's face bore a trace of fear as she spoke softly, "A younger relative of mine accidentally entered the Evil God’s Arena. To find her, I infiltrated the arena as well. But what I witnessed there was horrifying: the Storm Evil God Ipugil, the Ocean Currents and Tides Evil God Siroshen, and the Golden Sea Evil God Nailo joined forces to kill Agmirlas, tearing its divine body apart."

"Of the thirty-six major Evil Gods of the New Continent, only thirty-five remain now."

"I also sought out some of Agmirlas's believers. None of them could communicate with the Labyrinth God anymore."

"Moreover, every one of Agmirlas's candidates for divine succession has lost their status, and their Labyrinth Rune marks have disappeared."

This revelation shocked everyone.

Idehyra had only confided this information to Romeos previously, and many present were hearing it for the first time. The fall of a major Evil God left them all exchanging uncertain glances.

One of the Saint ranks pointed toward Charlot's fleet on the sea. "If Agmirlas is dead, how is the Duke of Mecklenburg still using the power of the labyrinth?"

No one could answer this question.

No one expected that Charlot had participated in the battle to slay Agmirlas.

The Storm Evil God Ipugil, the Ocean Currents and Tides Evil God Siroshen, and the Golden Sea Evil God Nailo had torn apart Agmirlas's divine body. However, Agmirlas's true essence was its labyrinth, which had been consumed by the Radiant Holy Kingdom and Emilia Mecklenburg.

As a major Evil God, Agmirlas had contingency plans. It left fragments of its divine flesh that could absorb power to resurrect itself after destruction. Yet, these fragments had all been devoured by Juno Arthur, leaving nothing behind.

Agmirlas had also left behind its Labyrinth Rune, a divine authority sigil. However, Charlot, having completed the challenge of ninety-nine labyrinths, temporarily gained the authority to wield this sigil according to the rules. The moment Charlot conquered the final labyrinth, Agmirlas would have lost its authority even if it had not fallen. Agmirlas could have reclaimed its status by conquering new labyrinths, but now it would never return.

In the truest sense, Agmirlas was utterly destroyed, leaving nothing behind.

The Saints of the New Continent wracked their minds, unable to comprehend the situation.

Romeos pondered for a while, his eyes suddenly brightening. "Could it be that the people of the Old Continent have pioneered a new path? One where they can wield the power of Evil Gods without succumbing to their control? Perhaps they’ve found a way to use this power independently?"

Everyone found this theory plausible.

Idehyra murmured, "We are all bound by the control of the Evil Gods we serve. If there truly is a way to break free, our powers could evolve even further."

The hearts of the Saints burned with desire. Their gazes toward Charlot turned predatory, intent on uncovering this secret.

Avish clenched his teeth. Though he controlled the formidable Aruhet Samsusu, he knew he couldn’t stand against Charlot's Radiant Holy Kingdom. Resisting his impulse to fight, he held back.

Meanwhile, the Dream Witch Idehyra, intrigued by Charlot, said, "I will take the first battle!"

Among the seven council members, Idehyra and Romeos were the strongest. As members of the five Peak Saints of the New Continent, no one dared contest her claim.

Idehyra floated into the air, her form shrouded in a black robe. Anyone staring at her would begin to feel as though she was their ideal lover, a perfect obsession. Captivated, they would become her puppets.

While Princess Annie had also become a Dreamwalker, she had only recently reached the third rank, far below Idehyra’s level.

When Charlot saw a woman rise from Arcadia Port, he heard her seductive voice call out, "Idehyra, First Councilor of the New Continent Council, challenges Charlot Mecklenburg to a duel!"

Charlot was stunned. For someone to issue a personal challenge on a battlefield of thousands? He couldn’t help but think, "This woman’s strength seems formidable!"
