The positions of the five figures in mid-air subtly shifted, sealing off Li Hao's retreat.
Each of them observed him intently, their gazes filled with keen interest.
Li Hao paid no heed to Xia Linglong and the others, who were anxiously calling out to him. From the moment he arrived at the imperial palace square, his focus had been locked on the elderly man lying in a pool of blood.
The old man’s hands and feet had been rendered useless, leaving him collapsed in a crimson puddle.
Not long ago, this same man had been sitting with Li Hao in a quaint little courtyard, chatting and playing chess.
Only a brief moment of time had passed...
Li Hao spoke in a low voice, “Could you let them go?”
The young man in purple robes smirked. “Why should we? Because you asked? You seem to have misunderstood the situation...”
With a sudden swish, Li Hao disappeared right before the young man’s eyes!
Teleportation?
But there were no traces of Dao Rhythms!
The purple-robed youth froze momentarily, a sharp sense of alarm rising in his heart—a fleeting pang of dread.
Simultaneously, an overwhelming force surged from the side, carrying a terrifying momentum that compressed the surrounding air into a luminous arc.
Boom!
Like a hammer smashing a mountain, Li Hao’s ferocious fist struck the young man’s head. His Dao Force had barely begun to circulate when the blow landed ahead of time.
The Flying Slash technique triggered, doubling the attack range!
The fist hadn’t even fully risen before it struck!
Blood exploded as the purple-robed youth’s handsome features were obliterated. His skull cracked open, spraying brain matter everywhere.
Li Hao struck with thunderous speed, and as soon as his first attack hit, he unleashed a relentless barrage of punches.
The destruction of his head caused a brief pause in the actions of the purple-robed youth, whose physical brain was his primary medium for thought. Li Hao's ceaseless rain of blows hammered down on the unprotected remnants of his shattered skull.
The attacks were not heavy, but their frequency was terrifyingly high. Each direct strike triggered the lethal properties of the Yellow Bird Diagram, manifesting a deathly harvesting force akin to the scythe of the Grim Reaper.
The young man’s soul soon recovered its senses, transforming from calm elegance into furious rage. Yet before he could activate his mystical abilities, an oppressive shadow engulfed him.
His vision turned pitch black in an instant.
What’s happening?
The purple-robed youth froze in disbelief, only to realize that all his senses had been stripped away, and his body was plummeting rapidly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The life-preserving treasures imbued with Sacred Heart energy on his body shattered one after another.
But it changed nothing. His consciousness continued to fade as though his body was disintegrating, plunging him into the abyss.
“No...”
The soul wreathed in Dao energy, burning as brilliantly as divine flames, flickered and then extinguished.
The headless corpse stiffened, toppled to the ground, and lay motionless, its life force extinguished.
The abruptness of the scene left Xia Linglong and the others, who had been frantically shouting moments before, as well as the remaining five observers scrutinizing Li Hao with interest, completely stunned.
The shouts ceased as if muted, plunging the square into eerie silence.
In this deathly quiet, Li Hao moved again. After killing the purple-robed youth, he immediately teleported toward the closest target: an exceptionally beautiful woman.
Her devastatingly alluring face momentarily revealed a hint of shock, her stunning beauty nearly otherworldly. Yet Li Hao showed no mercy, closing the gap instantly with another fist aimed to kill.
Boom!
This time, his punch was obstructed by a faintly glowing emerald green light emanating from within the woman’s clothing—a treasure of incredible power shielding her from harm.
In the fraction of a second before Li Hao could strike again, the woman’s face turned pale as she hurriedly attempted to teleport away and create some distance.
Her teleportation was not the Void Teleportation of the Return to the Void Extreme Realm but rather a Dao Heart-level technique reliant on Dao Rhythms. As her Dao Rhythms began to manifest, Li Hao’s fifteen-layered Dao Domain enveloped her, severing the connection instantly.
Even so, her reaction was lightning-fast. With a furious cry, she shouted, “Get lost!”
This was no mere outburst but a command laced with the power of Dao Law—her words carried absolute authority.
Li Hao felt an overwhelming compulsion to curl up and be hurled backward, but his fifteen-layered Dao Domain mitigated the effect, creating a momentary delay.
In that split second, Li Hao infused his fist with a surge of Immortal Energy, piercing through her Dao Force shield and landing the blow on her head.
Boom!
Her breathtakingly beautiful face shattered in an instant. Her delicate features, nose, and brows were obliterated as her head exploded.
But before Li Hao could press his attack further, two furious shouts of “Suppress!” echoed through the air.
Boom!
Li Hao’s fifteen-layered Dao Domain abruptly collapsed inward, retreating into his body. Simultaneously, an immense force pressed him downward, attempting to pin him to the ground.
Li Hao swiftly activated Void Teleportation, relocating himself to a safer position, but the Dao Law power followed relentlessly.
Boom!
The force struck him directly, causing the ground beneath his feet to sink and fracture violently.
Yet Li Hao remained upright, his body radiating blinding golden light as he entered a Divine Power state. Summoning the power of the Earth and Heaven Meridian, he transformed his Immortal Energy, stepping into the Transcendent State.
Even with eighty percent of his Transcendent power active, Li Hao barely withstood the suppressive force without collapsing.
All of this unfolded in the blink of an eye. From the moment Li Hao struck down the purple-robed youth to smashing the beautiful woman’s head, only a single breath’s time had passed.
Now, the headless woman’s body swiftly regenerated, her devastatingly beautiful head reforming. Her expression turned to one of pure fury, her gaze locking onto Li Hao.
The remaining four, however, looked on with grave faces, their eyes fixed on Li Hao.
In just a brief exchange, they had already assessed that this youth was terrifyingly powerful, even more so than the late Qin Zhenren. His methods were chilling.
On the surface, the gap in their apparent ages was vast.
But while they had dismissed Qin Zhenren, an old man of the Dao Law Realm, as unworthy of concern, they now recognized Li Hao as a monstrous talent.
“Be cautious—he’s mastered the Void Extreme Realm!”
The golden-robed youth, whose demeanor was as dignified as a noble lake, warned in a low voice.
Hearing his words, the other four’s pupils contracted slightly, a trace of shock flashing in their eyes.
Void Extreme Realm?
So, it was this challenging extreme state he had mastered. No wonder his teleportation was so unpredictable and difficult to anticipate.
Among the five of them, only the golden-robed youth had achieved mastery over the Void Extreme Realm.
To master this state was to kill with the ease of reaching into one’s pocket, to move with ghostly unpredictability, leaving no traces.
Unless one was forewarned and maintained constant vigilance, it was nearly impossible to guard against a sudden ambush.
While the five regarded Li Hao with grim expressions, Li Hao’s face also turned serious. This was the first time someone had correctly identified the source of his power.
Did they possess insider knowledge, or was it because someone among them had also mastered this extreme state?
Li Hao grew more alert.
He had never fought against someone else with mastery of the Void Extreme Realm, but he was acutely aware of its terrifying potential.
Even he wouldn’t be able to defend against such a sudden and lethal strike.
The battlefield fell into a momentary lull. The spectators in the square, having just recovered from their initial shock, now wore incredulous expressions.
If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they wouldn’t have believed that in such a brief exchange, Li Hao had gained the upper hand.
Not only that, but he had outright killed the purple-robed youth in a single strike!
The lifeless, headless corpse on the ground left no doubt—the purple-robed youth was dead beyond salvation.
Moments ago, this figure had seemed untouchable, capable of subduing a ruler like Emperor Yu or annihilating an expert of the Absolute Technique Stage with a single word. Yet, in a single face-off, Li Hao had shattered his skull and destroyed his very soul!
Moreover, his ambush had been so swift and untraceable that the purple-robed youth hadn’t been able to defend himself.
The onlookers with mid-level Dao Realm cultivation could tell that Li Hao’s teleportation technique wasn’t tied to Dao Rhythms. Instead, it was something entirely foreign to them.
“Old Daoist, lend me your sword.”
Li Hao glanced at the five figures, knowing a grueling battle was imminent. He then directed his words toward the old Daoist lying in the deep pit.
Qin Zhenren, who had been watching the scene with a mix of numbness and despair, showed signs of emotional fluctuation as Li Hao appeared. After witnessing Li Hao’s brutal takedown of the purple-robed youth, his astonishment only grew.
More than anyone else, Qin Zhenren understood the terrifying strength of that youth. He had assumed Li Hao was walking into a trap, yet this young man had managed to defeat a Dao Law Realm expert with sheer ferocity.
“You may borrow it—or take it outright,” Qin Zhenren replied hastily, his voice filled with weak excitement. Yet speaking aggravated his wounds, causing him to cough up two mouthfuls of blood.
Li Hao gave a slight nod before raising his hand. The sword embedded in the old Daoist’s chest flew out and landed in Li Hao’s grasp.
The action caused additional damage to Qin Zhenren but was still less excruciating than being pinned to the ground by the weapon.
Holding the sword in his hand, Li Hao’s demeanor seemed to change, his gaze growing sharper and colder.
Channeling his Object Manipulation ability, he shifted Emperor Yu’s body behind him, ensuring that it would not be used as a bargaining chip in the coming battle.
“Young man, I sent you a secret edict through the Wang family. Did you not receive it?”
Struggling to sit up, Emperor Yu looked at Li Hao, his eyes filled with both relief and complex emotions.
“I did,” Li Hao replied without turning around, his focus locked on the five figures in the air.
“Then why did you come?” Emperor Yu asked with a bitter smile. “The situation here is far worse than you can imagine. These people are from the Land of Saints within the Immortal Sect. They are far stronger than the Buddha Lord you faced.”
“I noticed,” Li Hao said, his expression grim.
Emperor Yu fell silent. From Li Hao’s response, it was clear the young man understood the danger but had come anyway.
“To have mastered the Void Extreme Realm, you are indeed a talent. But don’t be foolish. The Jiang family is doomed, and this place will fall. To resist us is to challenge the heavens themselves!”
The golden-robed youth’s eyes narrowed as he stared at Li Hao, his tone cold.
“You cannot claim to represent the heavens,” Li Hao replied, giving the sword in his hand a testing swing as though gauging its weight. “Besides, mortal affairs are beyond heaven’s reach!”
“Then you court death!”
The golden-robed youth’s voice dropped to a growl. “Divine Art: Return All to the Source!”
As his words fell, Dao Law coalesced, unleashing a terrifying force that pressed down on the battlefield.
Li Hao instantly felt his fifteen-layered Dao Domain retracting at an alarming rate, disappearing entirely in a blink.
He could no longer sense his Dao Domain.
Li Hao’s pupils shrank. He had expected this fight to be grueling, but the method his opponent had used was far more insidious than anticipated.
Whoosh!
Li Hao’s body vanished with Void Teleportation, targeting the golden-robed youth first.
At the same time, the golden-robed youth also disappeared, his movements free of Dao Rhythms.
When the two reappeared, their positions had switched, and neither could perceive where the other had landed.
