Something is going on...

TRANSCRIPT:

Setting: Sounds of rustling paper and notebooks hit the desk and a seat being sat in, followed by a deep sigh of preparation and then click on a camcorder to start taping

Germ: [ hushed tone ] “Alright… I– think I have this working?... Yeah, ok– ahem– This is Sherlock G. Watson documenting my first log in Doomsbury, Massachusetts. The day is March 21st, 2024. Time, 12:30 pm.”

Germ: [ clears throat ] “I’ve lived in Doomsbury for about three years now, and I couldn’t continue to ignore the odd occurrences happening around this town. Every day there always seems to be something missing or the feeling like– like a tickle at the back of your brain from the intuition of something that we’re not seeing behind the scenes. Every year, there’s been a report of maybe at least one person going missing and all the cases turn cold. Maybe they left town? Perhaps they got lost?  Maybe the cops are just a bunch of lazy pig donut-munchers who misread the job description? Whatever the case is, it doesn’t sit right with me and I’ve started to do some digging”

Uh- hello people?! Smell some petunias! Two massively known ways in and out of this town and no one questions why these occurrences always happen in those directions? Furthermore, how Doomsbury was built doesn’t help these theories!”

Alan's voice replacement

Hello.

Unfortunately, the progress of the game My Dear Hatchet Man has been significantly slowing down due to many factors beyond my control, but it was mainly the absence of Alan’s VA, Jellivc. The last time we have spoken was of April, when the Alan plush finally found its footing and I had prepared a script for the promo. Since then, I haven’t gotten any replies from him. I will say this, Jelli is not a professional VA. MDHM was merely a side-gig he did and an out-of-whim decision on my part when I hired him. There would be short periods of time that Jelli would tell me he would be unavailable. However this time, I didn’t get a heads up and has been months since we have spoken. I don’t know where he is , I’ve reached those who knew him better without much luck and came to the same results. It is with a heavy heart that I will have to recast Alan’s role. Sorry for any inconveniences.

New Backgrounds + Update

Hey everyone! I have some exciting news regarding the MDHM update both the prologue and day 1 has been fully rewritten! We're planning to release this version as a Demo and will be available as early access for the $10 tier patrons! The only thing that is legit stopping me is finishing the background art and the coding!

This new version of MDHM is going to be longer, have new sprites, new music, new lore, new backgrounds AND a preview of Alan's voice!

I can now estimate that the release of the WHOLE game + day 3 would be at the end of February or in March! Thank you everyone for being patient with me and the team as a whole!

[ another small pause as Jules begins to rant again. Claude’s frustration is showing but he is not blowing a fuse. ]

Claude: [ frustrated groan ] No need to bring up our mother and Alan to try and guilt trip me. It wasn’t my intention to forget their anniversary. I am not your personal delivery boy, especially when you are the one forgetting your own order. You should start being more responsible, salaud.

[ small silence ]

Claude: [ big sigh ] I’ll be there in half an hour or so. Visit Mother’s grave and plan something for Alan. Oh, and you owe me dinner.

[ Next scene opens with Claude arriving home, later than usual. You heard him opening the door to his home. ]

Claude: [ grumbling to himself ] Ugh, I am starving. Last time I did him a favor… Now it’s too late to cook anything for myself. Hopefully, I had some leftov- Shit!

[ Claude knocks over a tower of videotapes, landing all over the floor ]

Claude: Didn’t mean to do that. [ sighs ] I should really move these out of the way. These tapes are just collecting dust, and it’s not like-

[ Clause stops speaking, reading the label of the tape ]

Claude: [ stunned ] Mom’s tapes. What are these doing out? I thought I put them away in the attic… Hmph.

[ Small pause as Claude looks around the house, noticing an empty wine bottle. He reopens the cork. ]

[ Claude fumbles with the tapes, but successfully inserts one of the tapes. We hear only static until a feminine voice comes up. ]

Ophelia: [ fumbling over the camera, she is muttering ] No this isn’t the right button… or is it? Wait.. Hmm… [ realization ] Oh. It was?  I think it’s on… The red means it's on, right? Okay!

Claude: [ His voice is softer but focused ] What year was this?

[ Claude takes out the tape, tossing it aside. ]

Update on the Carver somno audio. We are nearly done, just in the editing process but it will be delayed, unfortunately. So sorry that it's going to be a late Halloween post!

Regarding the next update

First of all, I want to say apologize yet again for not posting here as frequently. My motivation has been slowing down and I had a lot to deal with behind the scenes. I've realized I am burnt out, but I am not gonna take a break this time. I am simply going to slow down my work and focus on one thing at a time. Day 3 is going to be put on pause, however, I will work on the new Alpha version on Day 1 and 2. I have already outlined a story for them and it will still be NEW content for the MDHM community! I know you are all patiently waiting for Day 3, but I am gonna have to put that to the side. I'm very sorry, but this new version of MDHM will have more dialogue, hidden secrets, updated CGs and new music!

Changes to for next MDHM update

Hey everyone! I am sorry for taking too long on the next update. Not only am I working on Day 3 but I am also rewriting the first 2 days as well. I am also making composing new music for the game, replacing some of the older OSTs I am not too proud of. It might sound disappointing that I will be making these changes but know I am doing these because I am trying to polish this product, and I want this project to feel complete. I hope you can all understand!

 While working on the next update, I try my best to make bonus content such as audios and art to make up for it. The next audio will be a Carver Somno audio and after that, an Alan audio will be in the works! A lot of people requested for sub!Alan and I am going to get on that! I also plan to do maybe angst/dramatic audios, with a touch of smut~
