Current and future plans

I thought it would be nice to give you all a rundown of my current plans for this Patreon and for my work in general as well as some slightly more personal stuff about how my work fits into my life and how this will soon be changing.
Immediate future
For the last few months I've been focusing on asset packs. Now that the September community pack is finished the next job will be to finish the other pack I'm working on with the German style city buildings. After this I'll probably move my focus back to full maps for a while (with the exception of monthly community asset pack of course) and look at a larger map pack. Currently I have to following items on my list for prospective projects. These are in no particular order and not all will be made, what I work on tends to depend on what I'm felling like at the time when I come to start a new project.
Larger Projects
- Isometric castles with mapped interiors
- Detailed maps of a small coastal town with interiors of key buildings
- Pack of miscellaneous town / city / location maps with desciptions
- Part 3 of the broken lands map pack series mapping the Dwarfen holds in the north.
Currently I'm feeling like looking at the third project on this list as my next large project. If you have any ideas you would like to see me make projects out of suggest them in the comments of this post, if I Iike them they may end up on this list to be tackled in the future.
Map pack ideas
- religious buildings
- defences (walls, gates, towers etc)
- more city buildings
- wilderness buildings and ruins
- elven buildings
- orc buildings
- dwarfen buildings
You'll no doubt be seeing a selection of these options for the next community map pack when I put up the poll for that at the start of October. As with the large projects above let me know if you have any ideas for other map packs you'd like to see.
Current and future work conditions
Currently I'm a full time parent while my wife works full time. Most of my art is done when my mum looks after my kids one day a week(currently on Friday) and sometimes I'm able to do an hour or so during nap times when I have the energy. In the near future (probably at the end of October) my wife will be reducing her hours a bit so she can spend more time with the kids which will open up another working day for me so I should be able to work two days most weeks. I'm looking forward to being able to devote more of my time to my work during the week and it also means that you'll see more products coming out and more ambitious projects from me.
Commissions
At the moment I'm still taking commissions though i don't tend to get a lot of them. I've had some expressions of interest in the last few weeks but nothing concrete yet. If I do end up working on a commission it will delay work on large projects but will not effect the monthly asset pack. In the future, once my patreon income has grown, I hope to be able to stop taking commission work and focus solely on my own projects but for now that's the case.
Change to Patreon
Patreon just added the option for new patron to be charged when they sign up and then on the same day of each subsequent month and I have now enabled this method for this Patreon. It will not affect current patrons, you guys will continue to be charged on the first day of the month, only new patrons. I'm glad patreon has added this option as it's what many people expect with a subscription (I'm really not sure why they didn't do it this way in the first place but at least it's available now). This will eliminate the issue of people getting billed twice within a few days if they happen to sign up right at the end of the month.
That's all from me for now but let me know if you have any thoughts, ideas, questions, or concerns in the comments.

Isometric map icons; that sounds like a good one, it's going on the list.

2022-09-27 06:39:50 +0000 UTCLove it! I'm currently working on my world map for my upcoming D&D campaign and I'm looking for isometric icons to add to it as the party discovers new hide-outs, cultist camps, orc-camps,... So looking forward to that type of content! So an idea might be just that, wildernis encounters! Structures you might encounter as you adventure through unknown lands!
