Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Chapter 312

Volume 3 - Chapter 50: The Tomb of the Demon Saint

Separated by a great distance, the two figures could not discern their appearances clearly.

However, the only one who could arrive at the Abyssal Sky Lock at this moment was undoubtedly that young man.

"Hao'er..."

Ji Qingqing’s eyes welled up with tears. She wanted to descend along the Abyssal Sky Lock to meet him, but without the family head’s pardon, leaving the island privately would be considered an escape.

After enduring over a decade of waiting, she didn’t want to complicate matters further.

The two figures supported each other, gazing intently at the climbing shadows on the lock.

...

Meanwhile, on the Abyssal Sky Lock.

Li Hao held the Sky-Gazing Mirror, observing the two figures standing before the Abyssal Sky Monument entwined with the Abyssal Sky Lock. One of them was none other than his mother, Ji Qingqing.

She was staring at the chains, her eyes brimming with excitement and tears, which made Li Hao quicken his pace even more.

Sensing Li Hao’s acceleration, Ji Yun Yue smiled bitterly. Despite the lock restricting their powers, leaving only physical strength for climbing, Li Hao’s movements were faster than hers.

As the two hurried onward, Li Hao suddenly felt a strange sensation.

As though prompted by instinct, he lowered his gaze.

Beneath him, the abyss was pitch black, devoid of light. However, as his gaze focused, crimson light suddenly seemed to emerge from the depths.

Li Hao paused, blinking as if suspecting he was seeing things.

Before he could look again, a terrifying vibration suddenly surged from the abyss.

Boom!

The entire abyss trembled. The cliffs near the Desolate Sea quaked, and the three Abyssal Sky Locks shook violently.

Simultaneously, the nearby Desolate Sea, once relatively calm, erupted into waves of angry surges.

"What’s that?"

Ji Yun Yue halted, gripping the chain tightly, her face filled with astonishment.

Crimson light burst forth from the depths of the abyss, growing increasingly intense. Suddenly, an enormous tentacle shot out, coiling around the Abyssal Sky Lock they were on.

The tentacle stretched thousands of feet long. Its weight dragged the entire Prison Sky Island downward, causing it to sway precariously.

This sudden and violent upheaval alarmed everyone on Prison Sky Island.

Whether they were deep in slumber, on the brink of death, or engrossed in cultivating their techniques, all were shaken by the tremor.

Prison Sky Island trembled like a lone leaf in a storm, swaying violently.

“What’s going on?!”

“Is the island collapsing?”

“Look, the island is sinking!”

On Prison Sky Island, over a dozen prisoners were astonished. Their once lifeless, dull eyes widened in shock as they rushed out of their respective caves to the island’s edge.

When they saw the crimson tentacle entwined around one of the Abyssal Sky Locks, they were struck with fear.

“What is that?”

“A demon? How could that be!”

“That size, that aura—my heavens! Is such a terrifying demon really guarding the abyss?”

“Could it be someone trying to escape, angering this demon guardian?”

The prisoners, having spent varying lengths of time here, knew little about Prison Sky Island. At this moment, all were filled with dread—this was something they had never heard of.

The abyss was said to be a bottomless pit created by the Ancestor’s punch.

But now, a demon was emerging from it?

An elderly man, frail and dressed in tattered clothes like a beggar, crouched at the edge of Prison Sky Island. Staring at the crimson tentacle, his eyes widened in shock before he burst into laughter.

“Ha ha ha! So, the Ji family now imprisons their geniuses with sacred bones here?”

“They deserve destruction... The Ji family deserves destruction...”

His laughter was wild, yet tears streamed down his face.

Many prisoners recognized this old man as a lunatic, someone who had been imprisoned here since ancient times. He spoke incoherently daily, and no one paid him any attention.

At the Abyssal Sky Monument, Ji Qingqing and Nanny Ning were nearly thrown off Prison Sky Island by the sudden tremor.

The two grabbed onto the monument to steady themselves, only to see the island plummeting rapidly, shaking continuously. The island’s natural buoyancy fought upward, but the tentacle dragging the Abyssal Sky Lock downward caused the entire island to tilt.

“What is that thing?”

Ji Qingqing also saw the crimson tentacle wrapped around the lock. Its massive size made it visible even from thousands of miles away.

Her face was filled with shock. This abyss had existed since ancient times, yet she had never heard of such a terrifying demon dwelling within it.

Nanny Ning was equally horrified, her face pale and trembling in fear.

On another Abyssal Sky Lock, Li Tian Gang and Ji Yunqing were also startled by the sudden tremor and nearly lost their grip on the chain.

When they saw the tentacle coiled around a distant lock, Ji Yunqing’s pupils shrank. “What is that thing?”

“I’ve never heard of it. This is unbelievable!”

“Is it a monster guarding this place?” Li Tian Gang’s expression changed as he asked urgently.

Ji Yunqing did not answer. His eyes filled with fear as he sensed the profound power emanating from the tentacle. The Ji family could not possibly have tamed such a powerful demon.

“Run!”

On the Abyssal Sky Lock, Li Hao saw the tentacle’s movements and was horrified. He immediately unleashed his full strength, pulling Ji Yun Yue along as they rushed forward.

Ji Yun Yue also reacted quickly. Her face turned pale as she noticed the tentacle coiling around the chain’s end. There was no retreat—escaping to Prison Sky Island was their only option.

She activated the Ji family’s movement techniques, surging forward at full speed to keep up with Li Hao.

As the two sprinted, several more tentacles shot out from the abyss, entangling all three chains.

The simultaneous pull on the three locks caused the tilting Prison Sky Island to stabilize slightly, but the entire island continued its rapid descent.

From the depths of the abyss, a massive crimson shadow began to emerge. Its form resembled a blood-red lotus, with countless thousand-foot-long tentacles extending from its base.

At the center of the blood lotus was a colossal human face, serene yet unnerving. Her skin was pale, her closed eyes tranquil, and her crimson lips tightly shut, as though in peaceful slumber.

However, this face alone spanned thousands of feet. As the blood lotus ascended, it loomed closer, beautiful yet terrifying, evoking a sense of dread.

More tentacles sprouted from the blood lotus, coiling around the locks and pulling Prison Sky Island straight downward.

“That’s... the demon saint recorded in the ancestor’s notes—Ji Wenren!”

On Prison Sky Island, several elderly prisoners were stunned upon seeing the blood lotus and the enormous face.

“A blood lotus, a demon’s face, violet soul-stealing eyes—one gaze can capture a soul, two can destroy a Dao heart, and three can bring death to even those on the path of enlightenment!”

“This is... the demon saint!”

The elderly prisoners were nearly hysterical, their minds blank as they gasped for breath.

On two of the Abyssal Sky Locks, Ji Yunqing and Ji Yun Yue simultaneously recognized Ji Wenren, their faces contorting with terror. They felt as though their souls were about to leave their bodies.

This was a demon saint!

A being on par with the Ancestor himself!

“The legends say that the Ancestor subdued various demon saints. Wasn’t this Ji Wenren killed by the Ancestor? How could she be here?”

“Run! Run now!”

Ji Yun Yue and Ji Yunqing were utterly terrified. Though they were both in the Supreme Dao Realm, in front of a demon saint, they were like helpless children. Even a single breath from this entity could end their lives.

“It’s a demon saint! Run!” Ji Yun Yue shouted urgently at Li Hao.

Li Hao’s heart seized, his entire body trembling. The overwhelming terror from the demon saint almost paralyzed him.

Nonetheless, the two fled forward with all their might.

The Abyssal Sky Locks shuddered under the strain, emitting metallic groans, but their incredible durability prevented them from snapping.

The blood lotus’s enormous face began to open its mouth slightly. Her perfect, crimson lips cracked apart, revealing a mouth lined with countless jagged spikes, leading into endless darkness.

A terrifying suction force surged from her mouth, pulling everything toward it. Li Hao and Ji Yun Yue felt as though countless threads were wrapping around their bodies, making it almost impossible to continue climbing.

On Prison Sky Island, the prisoners who witnessed this were paralyzed with fear.

“She’s going to devour the entire island!”

“Hurry! Push down the Abyssal Sky Monument! I’d rather ascend to the heavens than die in her mouth. They say being killed by a demon saint leaves no chance for reincarnation!”

Panic-stricken, the prisoners scattered toward the three Abyssal Sky Monuments on the island.

The old lunatic sprawled on the ground, laughing wildly.

“It’s useless! Useless! This Ji Wenren was the Ancestor’s demon pet. She betrayed him during his ascension and was sealed by him!”

“The sacred aura of the saint bones must have awakened her. She’s been roused from the abyss!”

“Ha ha ha! Who would’ve thought the Ancestor buried such a demon saint here? This entire Desolate Sea is her tomb!”

Amidst the chaos, no one paid attention to his ravings. The dozen prisoners split up, rushing toward the three Abyssal Sky Monuments.

Ji Qingqing heard their words, and her expression darkened. She roared angrily, “Stop! Who dares?!”

She unleashed her divine soul, hovering in midair, radiating dazzling divine light to block the prisoners attempting to topple the Abyssal Sky Monuments.

The Abyssal Sky Locks could not be severed, but the monuments embedded on Prison Sky Island could be moved. Without the chains’ restraint, even if the island ascended into the blazing sun’s holy fire, there would still be a sliver of hope for reincarnation.

“Get out of the way! Don’t stop us!”

One of the prisoners yelled, charging at Ji Qingqing.

Ji Qingqing’s divine garment flared with brilliance, and a frosty longsword materialized in her hand. With a single slash, she sent her attacker flying, blood spraying from the massive gash she inflicted.

Boom!

Her sword aura was like a rainbow, overwhelming her opponent and forcing him into retreat.

In her youth, Ji Qingqing had been a prodigy of the Ji family. Though not among the top talents, her years of cultivation had brought her to the Absolute Technique Stage. Furthermore, after just two years on Prison Sky Island, her powers remained nearly intact. With her fury unleashed, her strength was undeniable.

The other prisoners, witnessing her divine power, turned pale with rage and frustration.

“Are you trying to get us all killed?!”

“Exactly! If you want to die, don’t drag us down with you! We still want to reincarnate!”

They shouted in anger, their voices filled with desperation.

Ji Qingqing ignored them. Her divine soul soared into the sky, locking her gaze on the prisoners attempting to approach the other two Abyssal Sky Monuments.

Her killing intent sharpened as she wielded her divine sword to drive them back.

“As long as I’m here, none of you will touch it!”

Ji Qingqing stood her ground, back against the Abyssal Sky Monument, her divine flames enveloping her like a goddess descended in wrath.

“You... you’re utterly unreasonable!”

The prisoners trembled in fury and fear under her oppressive power.
