Chapter 215: The Pink Meteor

Charlot Mecklenburg had no idea how much time had passed. As night gradually fell over the ocean sky, the wind grew cooler, and his stomach began to grumble with hunger.

The giant whale beneath him seemed to be a transcendent creature, its immense presence scaring off all other fish in the area. Charlot wanted to catch a few fish to eat raw, but there was no prey to be found.

He had never experienced such a situation before and had no idea how long a transcendent could endure without food. As for his injuries, they had already mostly healed. By repeatedly using Bloodfire Transfiguration to transform into bloodflame and then revert to his human form, his wounds gradually lessened. Though the process consumed a bit of blood energy, after seven or eight transformations, his body was no longer in critical condition.

As Charlot pondered his predicament, he suddenly noticed what seemed to be a meteor streaking across the sky. He quickly made a wish: “Let me escape the crisis of the evil god and ascend to Saint rank!”

After a moment, he felt that this wish lacked ambition. How could a transmigrator be so uninspired? Taking advantage of the fact that the meteor hadn’t yet faded, he made a second wish: “I want to become a deity.”

A little while later, he noticed that the meteor was still visible and made yet another wish: “Bring me a cola!”

This time, he noticed something strange. The meteor in the sky had a faint pink hue and was heading straight toward him, growing larger as it approached.

Charlot shouted urgently, “Danger! Old pal, let’s move out of the way!”

The giant whale let out a resonant song, sounding almost excited. Charlot realized that the whale might not understand what “danger” meant. As he contemplated his next move, he recognized something familiar about the pink meteor.

Sure enough, as it passed overhead, Charlot saw it clearly: it was a mass of Flame Combat Energy, pink in color, wrapped around a graceful woman in a black robe.

Princess May gracefully descended onto the giant whale’s head. She extended a slender, elegant hand and gently patted the massive beast’s head. The whale responded with an even louder song, echoing across the night sky.

Charlot, still shaken, asked, “Is this your pet?”

Princess May replied, “I also dabble as a magician. It’s my contract beast.”

“You can call it ‘Stargazer,’ or simply ‘A-Kong,’ like me.”

Charlot couldn’t help but recall a dish from the Ingrima Empire. Try as he might, he couldn’t associate this majestic whale with a platter of steamed fish heads. If the creatures consumed by this whale could speak, they likely wouldn’t complain about their fate.

It was only then that Charlot realized the Grand Princess hadn’t just abandoned him; her actions had been somewhat considerate, leaving him with a friendly giant whale as a host.

No wonder this whale was so humane—and so friendly.

It had an owner.

Princess May let out a long cry, indistinguishable from the whale’s song. Stargazer immediately pivoted its massive body and changed direction.

Charlot finally remembered to ask, “How did your battle with those two Saint ranks go?”

“And what about James Cook?”

While soothing her contract beast, Princess May answered, “I severely injured one of Byron’s vampire Saints. As for James Cook, he did well, sinking the Byron warship he was fighting.”

Charlot was delighted. “Then let’s hurry back!”

Princess May replied coolly, “Why should we go back?”

Charlot was stunned. “We’ve already defeated the Byronites. Why not return?”

Standing gracefully atop the whale’s head, Princess May said, “We’ve finally gotten a chance to enjoy some fresh air. Why rush back? As long as we arrive at the Fars Empire in time, that’s enough.”

“The Titanic Whale is crowded with people. I find it far less comfortable than being with A-Kong.”

Charlot nodded repeatedly, thinking, “Alright, alright, as long as you send me back.”

However, after a while, he realized in despair that the Grand Princess clearly didn’t consider him “people” since being with him didn’t make her “uncomfortable.”

This... this was going too far.

He still wanted to maintain his dignity as a human being.

Unlike her demeanor aboard the Titanic Whale, Princess May seemed relaxed and carefree. After gazing at the stars for a while, she produced a massive cushion from who knows where. She carried it over to Charlot, placed it down, leaned against it, and said, “Keep telling me stories!”

“I want to hear more about that Dewey fellow.”

Charlot was about to protest, his face twisted in misery. He hadn’t eaten or drunk anything all day. Just as he was about to complain, a delicate flask and a plate of pastries appeared in front of him.

Overjoyed, he grabbed the food and drink, devouring them ravenously. Only after finishing most of it did he think to ask, “Your Highness, have you eaten?”

Princess May said lightly, “Can you start the story now?”

Forcing himself to rally, Charlot began recounting the tales of Dewey once again.

Truth be told, sitting on the back of a giant whale, accompanying a beautiful princess...

Well, Charlot hadn’t actually seen Princess May’s face, so the “beautiful” part could be put aside for now.

From a literary standpoint, it was undoubtedly romantic.

But Charlot found it unbearable. The whale’s back offered no shelter. By day, the sun scorched relentlessly, and by night, the sea breeze was bitterly cold. The whale’s slick surface made sleep precarious, and while Princess May could provide food, the pastries became less fresh with time...

In short, Charlot spent seven or eight days traveling across the sea with Princess May atop the whale Stargazer. He had had enough of this life.

Charlot longed for the comfort of the Titanic Whale’s luxury suites, let alone his several properties ashore. Even the barren wasteland of Machubi seemed more appealing than the whale’s slippery back.

Princess May, however, appeared to relish the experience. Each day, she listened to Charlot recount classic Earth novels and occasionally took brief excursions, leaving the whale for a bit of exploration.

Once, she even managed to summon an entire pod of whales to accompany Stargazer. The majestic procession was truly awe-inspiring.

The only consolation for Charlot was that, in the constant struggle to endure the sun’s heat and the night’s chill, he continually operated Blood Glory. By the seventh or eighth day, his Bloodfire Aura trembled faintly and broke through once more, manifesting a new rune: the Flame Dragon’s Roaring Bullet.

The Vampiric Scroll〢〨, a compendium of Adonis Clan secret arts, contained seventeen pages. Charlot had now mastered the first four techniques: Bloodfire Aura, Bloodfire Transfiguration, Flame Dragon’s Hand, and finally the Flame Dragon’s Roaring Bullet, pushing back the timeline for the resurrection of the vampire evil god Karnstein by nearly twenty days.

The fifth page of the scroll documented a summoning technique unique to the Adonis Clan: Demonflame Horse.
