The Office - E3 Awesomeness?

It's still a work in process, but here's the current decor for the office. I was also going to put up some art behind my computer desk, but it's the wall with cinder block to the outside so I need different screws. I'm thinking about collecting movie posters and rotating them. Any you recommend? I'm going to get some anime ones.

Btw, ThinkGeek.com is merging with gamestop so everything on  their website is 50% off right now. It's going quick, but just so you guys know. Get it while you can!

Next Chapter

The next chapter for Codename: Freedom is still in the works. This is going to be a huge deal, so I'm making sure I get the atmosphere just right. It will probably be ready Monday or  Tuesday. Maybe tomorrow. I have a sinus infection at the moment so I'm moving slow.

E3

Even though Playstation was missing this year, I thought all the shows were overall good. There were any major bombs like last year. I'l just list some of the biggest things I'm excited about or caught my attention.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

I've been wishing for a remake for years, although, I've always feared them messing it up. After seeing the gameplay, I'm convinced it is going to be better than I could have hoped.

The mix of real time and turn based action looks genius. They may have action pulled off a hybrid system that actually works. After listening to numerous people who got to test it, I'm sold.

There are a few concerns that I still have. Since it's going to be released in parts, how long do we have to wait for part two? They've said the first episode will only be from Midgar... if you aren't familiar with the original game, that's the first ten hours or so. It's a small part of the overall game. I don't care about having to pay for multiple installments if they do it right. if they really expand the world and characters like they say they will, from what I've seen, I'll give them $60 for each part no problem. If its 40 hours of gameplay, take my money. But, if I have to wait years between releases and possibly buy multiple consoles, that could be a problem.

Btw, I haven't owned a PS since the PS2. I'm buying a PS4 on Black Friday just for this game. I may take some time off and stream the entire thing when it comes out next year.

Keanu Reeves

He's awesome. Cyberpunk 2077 looks like its going to be a blast. I probably won't get it because of the nudity and cursing, I have a wife and kids, but I'm going to be watching it closely. I hope they really push RPGs to the next level.

Next Gen Consoles

So Microsoft and Sony have both announced their next consoles. it looks like this next gen is really going to change things. One, everything will be backwards compatible. They will be more PC like than ever. Okay, there is no difference anymore except for their console OSs. There will be a huge leap in load times because of custom SSD drives. Finally! Real 4k gaming will actually be a thing. There will be low end systems and ones without optical drives... Microsoft and Sony are using Microsoft's serve tech to go up against Stadia...

I'm as excited to see how things play out as getting a better console.

Game Streaming

Stadia is making a big impact, even though it hasn't come out yet. Sony doesn't have the tech or infrastructure to compete with Google, but Microsoft does. Microsoft is also heavily expanding into coplay and even putting games up on Steam. Even if Google fails miserably, they could be the thing that forces Microsoft to go Super Saiyan. I admit to liking Microsoft more now than I have in years.

Game streaming itself I'm excited about, but expect there to be some hiccups at first. The Assassins Creed test that Google did was impressive, but will it be FPS ready when it goes live? I doubt it. What is really exciting are the big thousand people battles that will be possible. Since the workload won't be on your local machine, they will be able to have thousand player battle royales that are impossible now since it will all run on massively powerful servers. I anticipate that once someone pulls that off, game streaming will become as big if not bigger than local gaming. Time will tell.

Watchdogs

Being able to recruit and play as any NPC in the world sounds awesome. The concept is interesting and their execution looks spot on.

I'll leave it at that. What impacted you?
