Thanksgiving

Hey there!

With Thanksgiving literally days away, I wanted to update everyone with what to expect for the posting time of the next chapter. If possibly, I hope to have one more for you guys before the big day, but I'm not yet sure if it will be ready. It should be up this weekend if not.

I want to also thank all of you for your support and encouragement. Like you, I started out as a fan of litRPG/Gamelit and fell in love with the genre. On a whim I began posting my first draft of Codename: Freedom on royalroad.com back in October of 2015 and the craziness began. I'm not sure you realize it or not, but many of your favorite authors in the genre originally put in the work because of how amazing this community is. You guys are amazing.

It's a unique relationship we have as authors and readers. Whether it's because a good many of us started out as gamers and the community aspects of MMOs are now ingrained in us, or that most of the authors also started out as readers just a few years ago and love the same lit, it's something that really doesn't exist anywhere else in literature. Thank you for being a part of it!

I have ordered a new PC, which should give me the ability to do some things I have been working on for a while now. One of the reasons for delay of the physical copies of the books is because I built this PC back in 2011 and it just doesn't cut it anymore. The new system will be a work horse and allow me to take on any project that might pop up. (I'll give specs below)

There are a few things I have in the works.

*Physical copies of the books are a priority.

*The next book, of course.

*A series of Youtube videos giving advice to anyone interested in writing, especially LitRPG.

*Streaming my game time so that you guys can interact with me through chat, ask questions, and even get a chance to play with me/kill me, depending on the games you want to play. I'm not looking to be a typical streamer, but to take advantage of the community aspects that go hand in hand with it.

The Turkey

This is going to be a busy week. We are heading out to spend time with family tomorrow, so today we are making sure we get all the little things taken care of. Flu vaccines for us and the kids, I need a haircut as soon as possible, and I need to hit the gym hard today so my body is in a state of rebuilding muscle when the turkey comes... I try not to over eat on big holidays, but it always happens.

Black Friday is also happening! Cyber Monday too... I'm going to be looking for a better mic and possibly better webcam. I got lighting taken care of which is the biggest problem with so-so streaming.

I know everyone probably has just as crazy of a week planned. What do you guys typically eat? Traditional turkey and the works? Something, different... Any big purchases you're looking to make?

The New PC

CASE: Raidmax Monster II ATX High Airflow Mid-Tower Gaming Case

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz [4.35GHz Turbo] Eight-Core 20MB Cache 105W Processor

CyberpowerPC Asetek 550LC (White Color) 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler

HDD: 500GB WD Blue Series SATA-III

 3TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

MEMORY: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/3000MHz Dual Channel Memory

MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-AX370-Gaming

POWERSUPPLY: 850 Watts - EVGA 850W GQ 80 Plus Gold

VIDEO: AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 Video Card

All for about $1k - Cyberpowerpc has had some deals recently that are far better than I could build for the same price. I'm also getting two mice, two keyboards and an additional headset, just because they were extras with the deal. Lol. There was a coupon code for 5% off if you spend over $999, so I added some little things and ended up paying the same price, plus added 3 day shipping. Black Friday might have some even better deals, so keep an eye out if you're in the market.

Honestly, the Ryzen 7 2700X probably has more cores than you'll need for gaming in the near future, and you might get more for your money out of a cheaper Intel quad core , depending on the game, or the Ryzen 5 2600X. I'm going to be doing photo and video editing though, so this setup will take care of everything. Also the  RX 580 8GB seemed to be the best deal out there for 1080p gaming right now. It will play everything on ultra settings and has the extra ram for any future games that might take advantage of it. It gets better frames than its Nvidia competitor the 1060 6GB in most games and with the RX 590 just being released you can expect some crazy deals. (Also plays high setting on almost all 1440p setups)

If interested, I might to an unboxing of sorts. Let me know if you would get a kick out of it.

That's it for now. As always, Cheers!
